Were the Gibeonites Saved?
As I read the thoughts of this board it appears to me that among all of the errors taught on this board there are a number of central errors. One of the errors is that Jesus did not want to save the Gentiles until Calvary. What a sad understanding of the love, mercy, fairness, justice of Jesus. Jesus wanted as many people to be saved as chose to be saved in response to His grace. So when it came down to the Canaanites many people on this very board, claiming to be followers of Christ, say that Jesus/Hehovah/the Son of God did not want to save anyone in Canaan. Yet Rahab, and all of the people in her house were saved by faith in the covenant with Jesus. And the Gibeonites were saved by their covenant with Jesus/Joshua/Yeshua in Joshua 9. Lift up your eyes, open your hearts to the love of Jesus who has always been a loving and saving God who died to saved all of the Canaanites and every other sinner on this planet, all through history. But just because Jesus died to save all (John 3:16) most people will not accept His gift by faith for it requires death to self, and it requires that we be changed into His likeness. Most people reject His wondrous gifts, but the Gibeonites did not. They accepted them by faith, just like Rahab, and Ruth.
