Where in this thread did I even quote Romans 7:6?
I think you are confused.
You are wrong again!Your misrepresentation of Romans 7:6 doesn't conform with the previous chapter that clearly defines that our old man/woman must die to be married to Christ:
Paul doesn't say that "our old man/woman must die. He says that we have died with Christ!
Is having it "your way" so important to you that you would distort the clear Word of Scripture?
Rom 7:4 So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
You are the one who is trying to make a convoluted mess out of the Scriptures.the law doesn't die because that would mean we would be lawless and those who contemporaneously commit sexual immorality couldn't be imputed. Like I said, yes, scriptural gymnastics indeed.
You are trying to distort the clear testimony of Paul in order to prevent people from believing him!
And Romans 8 clarifies that we are released from the condemnation of the law.8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 7:4 We have died to the law in Christ, so that we may belong to Him.
Rom 7:5 When we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law caused us to bear fruit for death.
Rom 7:6 We have been released from the law so that we can serve in the "new way of the Spirit."
I am not sure how you can try to squeeze any other meanings out of these very clear passages in Romans 7 and 8!
