Nearly three decades ago I came across a book that, pardon the pun, caught my eye:
I didn't know much about it at the time for I was just beginning in investigation of cults and the occult compared to God's Word. But in this book there was a picture that caught my attention.
I had heard that Freemasons had a similar initiation and I wondered if there was a connection. It's taken years to gather enough documentation to establish that there is not only a connection but it is established fact now.
Another researcher in the generation before me, a man by the name of Martin L. Wagner wrote one of the most definitive books ever written connecting Freemasonry with ancient Baal worship of the ancient middle east. And advertisement for his book Freemasonry, an Interpretation states it like this:
"Quoting profusely from the writings of the leading Masonic authorities such as Albert Pike and Albert Mackey, this book demonstrates that Freemasonry is not merely an imitation but a complete restoration of the pagan mysteries of the ancient fertility and sun-worship cults in its essential religious teachings and symbolism. The author concludes that the 'Great Architect of the Universe' honored by Freemasons is merely a personification of the 'generative principle' in nature and that the numerous symbols of the Lodge are all phallic in nature."
Which is very interesting because the writer of I & II Kings connected ancient Baal worship with witchcraft: II Kings 9:22
But the initiation seen in black and white above should be compared with another black and white illustration in my next post.
