I believe in his resurrection but that's not why I believe in HIM. His disciples forsook everything to follow him because they believed in HIM, they had no idea that he was to die by crucifixion and be resurrected so they could not have believed in him for that reason.

All of this was done before the resurrection, before anyone had any idea that it was to come. Those drawn to him who followed him were drawn to the man, his words, his example, his teaching.
Our focus should be on Jesus the man, not his resurrection. What can we learn from him about ourselves so that we are open to being made alike to him.
