Actually belief can only occur in and by a believing mind. And if "evidence" is just something you believe to be true regarding an object or person, then "evidence" is just beliefs you have regarding that object or person.
And if you believe the "evidence" already, then how can "evidence" contradict itself?
If that is true, then name some "evidence" that you presently disbelieve to be true?
You seem to be denying that it is belief that makes the truth and reality known to us, because until we accept something to be true (belief/evidence), then it isn't known to be true to us in reality. So, our knowledge of the truth does in fact depend on believing it or not in reality.
