Well I have a rare condition. I was going to a specialist and investigated all my options online. I was also given a booklet from the main body that looks after these types of conditions. I now just use my GP as there is nothing that can be done. I do have a choice of injections for the rest of my life but the side effects are worse than the chemo tablets. It is just the way it is . Maybe they will come up with other choices but not holding my breath. Of course there could be a miracle.

I am allergic to a couple of soil-borne fungi, which apparently are rampant in Georgia. I have allergies all year 'round, but they are much worse in wet, warm weather, than when it is cold and dry out. I was using clemastine fumerate for years--the old Tavist stuff--as it works as well as Benadryl, but without the drowsiness and one need only take it 2X a day. I was able to buy it over the counter for years. Then the two manufacturers in the US that made the 1.34 mg. size quit making it and I couldn't find it anymore. So, I had to switch to Xyzal. It works fairly well, but isn't as strong as the clemastine. Every time I tried to find it online, I came up bupkiss--except for clemastine for vet clinics. I hunted everywhere for a human version that my doctor could subscribe for me, but could never find it.Praying for your husband.
I bought my husband a grill one year, but he didn't enjoy grilling so I had to use it myself.
I'm allergic to dogs and cats, mold, and all kinds of pollen. I just try to avoid them. If I'm around a dog or cat, I'm okay as long as I don't touch them. Raking autumn leaves makes my nose run.
I had 2 Pfizer vaccines, and haven't had Covid-19 or the variants.
While Xyzal works fairly well, it tends to get overpowered during long wet warm periods. I supplement with Nasocort and also take Singulair. But then, last fall, I did a search for clemastine againt that wasn't just offered to vets and found it, but at double the strength. At that strength I need an Rx. My doctor got it through my local pharmacy. I am so happy I found it. However, I cut it in half as I never needed more than 1.34 mg. I am afraid at full strength, it would make me drowsy.
One thing about the old time, first gen antihistamines, is that they are all cholinase inhibitors, which is how they help to dry up sinuses. But cholinase is used to make acetylcholine in the brain, which is necessary for memory function, especially short term memory. So, when it is really cold and dry, I will use Xyzal. It is cold and dry right now, but I am getting over a very bad cold and cough and don't want to take chances, so I am sticking with the clemastine for the time being. I am nearly over the cold. I will then go back to switching back and forth.

Thanks, but that is long term memory, not short term memory. So far, I haven't noticed any problems with that. I am feeling much, much better and nearly over my cold. Just have a slight residual cough.

Oh, I am so sorry when I know of anyone with struggles because of health issues. I will be glad if we see online friends in heaven. We'll all be rejoicing!
Often if I think of Heaven I see Ps 23 the Good Shepherd and we will all sit down to a feast that has been prepared. Health issues are a part of this world, they will disappear. They help us understand and have empathy for others, I really feel for those who do not have a relationship with Jesus. You are right we will be rejoicing.

I hope Jesus helps us recognize our online friends, most of whom we have no idea what they look like! He will say something like, "Hey, Bonnie, this is Janice Bower from CARM!" I hope he does the same with Theo1689, John t, and you, too. We have exchanged pictures of each other in emails, but I still probably would not recognize you, unless you sent a lot more.

Another person I'm excited about seeing in heaven is someone ( a Lutheran) ?who taught me to pray! I was about four years old and she asked me if I wanted to pray before I went to bed. Well, I'd never heard of that but she was always so kind to me and my two siblings, that I said, "Yes." She was probably thirteen years older than I was at the time. She planted the seed and I still know the German prayer! ? I prayed it often without anyone's knowledge in my family of non-Christians. My dad was stationed in Frankfurt Germany then.
That is a great story.

Sometimes I get teary-eyed when I think of God's mercy to me. It's such a good thing to teach little children.

That is interesting...my husband and I were in Germany for three years, near Kitzingen, in northern Bavaria, from 1976-1979. We visited Frankfurt fairly often, to go to the larger PSs and commissary there, and also to visit the museums and zoo.

the steamed pudding is in this link, page 53.There were three: Grand Diplôme Pistachio Rice Salad, Orange Raisin Steamed Pudding, South of the Border Potato Salad. I have the pudding mold, but my husband accidentally put the recipe in the trash when he was cleaning the kitchen years and years ago.
