See above. God asks us to be holy as He is holy. The commandments are for that purpose.to intercede, to expiate, to stand in the gap and make up the difference of God's holiness to man's sinfulness.

We're talking two separate ideas. The context in Ezekiel 22 is saving destruction in the land. Praying doesn't require an intermediary. Even Jesus said to pray directly to the Father.Weird that you would deny your own Scriptures.
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. (Ezek. 22:30 NKJ)
