John 15 Losing eternal life

Yes, of course it is something a person does.
But it is not something a person can do if God doesn't give them faith (Eph. 2:8, Phil. 1:29, Rom. 12:3, 2 Pet. 1:1, John 10:26, etc.)
agree with you, that a person can not manufacture the faith to believe that God exists. But once he has that understanding by faith, (Heb 11) it is in his court to mix that with the word when he hears it.

Why do you keep making stuff up that is found nowhere in the Bible?
First of all, the faith that saves is NOT "the faith to believe that God exists. That's not faith, that's knowledge. And understanding doesn't give us faith, faith is a gift of God. So an unbeliever who God has not given faith to has no faith to "mix with the word".

Hebrews 11 By faith we understand that God made the world.
I am connecting understanding to faith, Faith is the conduit of understanding God as creator

Two ways. The whole topic of the parable is the condition of the land, and the description of each type of land is decribed by the way people lead their lives.

So the soil isn't man?

For a proper analogy, you need to realize that we are from the dust of the earth. That is why the analogy is made. There is no indication of the "soil" being anything other than individuals.

Sorry, but there is nothing in the parable about men "conditioning their own hearts".
That's why you didn't provide any verse or citation.
It sounds like you're treading very close to salvation by works.

Hebrews 11 By faith we understand that God made the world.

Why did you not give a valid citation, and not correctly quoting the verse?

Heb.11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

This does NOT say, "by faith we know that God exists".
It says we understand that (1) God created the universe, and (2) He did it through His word.

So can you articulate your position about knowing God exists? IS it by faith?
