Calvinist "Election" is is part of their "Theology", but essentially means NOTHING in a practical sense. NOBODY KNOWS...
And since Jesus was TEMPTED IN ALL RESPECTS AS WE ARE, it appears that the only difference is that Jesus never allowed HIS LUST (strong personal desire) to CONCEIVE, and become sinful actions.
PERSONALLY, I think it's more likely that God "SOFTENED" Pharaoh's heart by applying "Conviction" about what Moses was demonstrating, but when the Conviction of the Holy Spirit lifted, then Pharaoh's heart simply returned to it's normal state - i.e. HARD.
