    I know you do not believe Jesus would place his life in man's hands; however, it's confusing sometimes when text is not really black and white.

    A little confused here; what was Jesus expecting from believers to whom he entrusted himself? OK, I can follow that; I was thinking you meant Jesus was placing his life in the hands of those he trusted. ie, if I entrust myself to God, then I would be placing my life in God's hands.

    Also the message was that Jesus was the Son of God; John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. A little confused here; what was Jesus expecting from believers to whom he entrusted himself?

    Motive, maybe? Did they believe in him as King to establish new kingdom, or as Saviour to save them from their sins?

    Not sure about Traditionalists; however, it is not that belief is the cause of salvation; rather, the cause of salvation is God who is pleased to save those who believe.

    He knew the heart of man; I do not think Jesus would entrust himself to man whose heart is desperately wicked. Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    Maybe more like they believed in his name as the coming Messiah to set up the kingdom, as opposed to the Saviour who takes away the sin of the world.
