In the wrath of the LORD of hosts

Psalm 18:7-15
New King James Version
7 Then the earth shook and trembled;
The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken,
Because He was angry.
8 Smoke went up from His nostrils,
And devouring fire from His mouth;
Coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down
With darkness under His feet.
10 And He rode upon a cherub, and flew;
He flew upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His secret place;
His canopy around Him was dark waters
And thick clouds of the skies.
12 From the brightness before Him,
His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire.
13 The LORD thundered from heaven,
And the Most High uttered His voice,
[a]Hailstones and coals of fire.
14 He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe,
Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them.
15 Then the channels of the sea were seen,
The foundations of the world were uncovered
At Your rebuke, O LORD,
At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

The Idumea line of rule ends with the death of Herod Agrippa II around 92 A.D. Did the Heavens roll back? Did all of the host of Heaven dissolve?

Seems Isaiah wrote about Jesus' return interspersed among the judgments against Babylon when the Medes & Persians conquered it.

Where is the return of Christ mentioned in that passage? Seems you are reading that in to the passage.

Are these recorded events in history?

10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not give their light;
The sun will be darkened in its going forth,
And the moon will not cause its light to shine.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens,
And the earth will move out of her place,

I refer you to the book "Worlds In Collision" by Immanuel Velikovsky. It'd take me a week to write about that event that occurred before Israel was conquered by the Assyrians.

It's rather simple... Israel was judged numerous times... Which judgement did this happen and where is it recorded?

“That I will make the sun go down at noon,
And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;

Again, I refer you to Velikovsky's book.

So, when was Egypt judged like this?

When I put out your light,
I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark;
I will cover the sun with a cloud,
And the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you,
And bring darkness upon your land,”

Not certain, but remember, the Psalms are SONGS, & Dave likely used "artist's license" in places.

So, in other words, you decide when something is literal and when something isn't. I kick it back to you saying that you claim literal interpretation... Just a sample of the passage...

7 Then the earth shook and trembled;
The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken,
Because He was angry.

14 He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe,
Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them.
15 Then the channels of the sea were seen,
The foundations of the world were uncovered

Definitely, the sun & moon stayed in their places awhile, & a meteor shower came in at an angle over the Israelois' heads & hit the Canaanites. We don't knoe ALL the events that happened, but the stoppage of the sun & moon were recorded worldwide.

Could you show me how you get that out of the passage?

Yes, when the Babylonians conquered them.

This literally happened?

Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud,
And will come into Egypt;

Yes. Most of the remains of Nineveh are buried in sand & dirt.

You are using a different hermeneutic. Go back and read how Ninevah was destroyed...

I read about the discovery of the ruins of Nineveh. Don't know what your argument is. The remains of Nineveh were buried beneath the shifting sands & dirt of the area. (BTW, several intact "basements" were found, full of clay tablets of Assyrian writings.) Again, what's your argument about Nineveh? 'Twas BABYLON that was slowly destroyed, although conquered quickly.

Are the clouds the dust of his feet? Let me guess... That's artistic.... No. No. That was accidentally written by the prophet.... Uh, maybe it's an anthropomorphism...
