Just not the three verses that say Jesus IS our mediator, the "implied is" is the only verse we must study on this subject so we can find a way out! Make sure you stay away from those other ones that say "IS" as has they have absolutely NO bearing on whether Jesus is a mediator.

English grammar does have some implicit words, I was trying to think of one, imperative statements are one example. (You) Go eat all the ice cream! According to his logic this sentence would have no subject since it is implied.

Do animals go to Heaven when they die?

I kind of disagree with this interpretation. Not every truth is in the Bible, just no truth will violate the Bible. The Bible teaches God can communicate to people directly, and no where declares that he has completely stopped doing that. It is not wrong that God can speak to us extra-Biblical...

    Gideon's theology

People seem to go into Eastern Orthodox and Lutheranism when they became spiritually dissatisfied with where they are; they just sound kind of different and cool I think, I'm trying to figure this out. But there is a danger when going from one extreme to over correct into another to go a little...

We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. (2Co 6:1 NKJ) We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you as means to a decreed end that you believe in irresistible grace and not in true personal responsibility. (No Bible Ever)

    Predestination

This is poorly and incorrectly phrased. Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity with a divine nature and has never "come into being," he has existed eternally with the Father. Before Abraham was, he IS. The incarnated human nature of Jesus Christ came into being. Just a tip.

Do animals go to Heaven when they die?

Animals peculiary special to people will be in heaven for their sake, as God even cared about a pet lamb, the cattle in Nineveh, and knows every sparrow that falls to the ground.

    Gideon's theology

So do Classical Arminians in the truest sense. That grace does not rape, it precedes, thus responses to grace are free and not decreed. This is the healthy way to give God the credit for good and man the credit for sin, not the monstrosity of compatibilism. Sadly we are very under-represented.

    Gideon's theology

Thanks for being civil Nic, the topic can kind of impassion me. I am familiar with the strange hybrid known as Lutheranism, and it's one step forward from Calvinism at least! Yay.

    Gideon's theology

"Got Questions" is a Calvinistic slanted website. Calvinism supports God decreeing evil things which puts evil into his character, and a doublespeak determinism which encourages the idea humans don't have real responsibility. Yes, I support real free will and actual decisions for Christ which...

Is your salvation predicated on your right understanding of justification?

Certainly works can be a good thing, but we should never trust in them to justify. But yes, I'm convinced God forgives even great measures of self-righteousness as long as we recognize in the end that Jesus is what saves us. I was very surprised to find that, although I intellectually...

Is your salvation predicated on your right understanding of justification?

I don't think our lack of understanding is the inhibitor, but it can be a manifestation of deception or rebellion... Since self-righteousness is a real threat, it is not just an "understanding" per se, but a refusal of grace. And Jesus said "This man went home justified rather than the other,"...

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

Just to be clear, Classical Arminians also teach everyone is dead in sins and unable to come to God on their steam, God's grace always precedes man's efforts. Arminians believe grace can be resisted (as the Bible actually describes), and this is where the "choose ye this day" comes in...

    Confess your sins.

I've confessed my sins of secret pride and self-righteousness many times on here, although that is not a comprehensive list, as sin can be very subtle and extensive, I do believe every single person has committed these. One could also point to a lack of love for God (called idolatry) and...
