We do not need to use 2Thes2 as a proof verse for the Rapture. What is your opinion on the usage of "apostate" in the OP?
Somehow the discussion turned into a proving the pre-trib rapture.
!) Have you ever noticed that anti-rature movement never even mention:
1 Thes 1:10 “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”==>WHY?
1 Thes 5:9 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” ==>>WHY?
Luke 21:36 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”==>>WHY?
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.==>>WHY?
I will tell you why. The verses are crystal clear that we will not have to endure the Tribulation period.
AS for 2Thes2, What difference does it matter? The above verses still hold true regardless of the position taken. I concede the point.
Having said that, I can argue this verse:
2Thes 2:
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
I would argue that the Holy Spirit that indwells the people of the church shall be taken out of the way prior to the revealing of the AC.
