50 years of climate predictions

Why is he different? Because he committed genocide on a smaller scale? Do you know how many genocides have been committed? What made Hitler stand out? Simple, the Jews own the Media..... There are a very disproportionate number of Jews in Entertainment and Media. It is clear they have influence.
WRONG. I actually feel soiled talking to you. Your views are not just inaccurate and biased, they are nauseating for anyone with pretentions to civilised morality.

I don't buy the "emergency", and this isn't convincing me.

.....

There is an emergency currently in progress in Utah. For over thirty years the lake's supply has been dwideling as documented by Landsat images, and last November the water level dropped to 73% of normal, losing about 60% of it's normal area as recorded since 1850.

The reservoir water is being depleted partially due to increased housing and agriculture use while simultaneously enduring the impact of climate change with precipitation in the form of rain instead of snowmelt*. Toxic dust in the form of mercury, arsenic, selenium, antimony, and zirconium become a problem for lungs blowing from the lake's past basin is a critical concern now since the water that normally suppresses its distribution might not be available to protect residents in the relatively near future.

_______

* This, in turn has affected the city's aquifers as well.

Dude, the lakes, reservoirs and the river have been raped by Crazyfornia and Co. for decades.

Find another hysteria talking point, this one is the locals fault

And really, pumping millions of people into the desert and then complaining about water is, well, goofy.

We know @inertia irrational models

A 2015 Wall Street Journal op-ed article said that 1.4 trillion gallons of water had been pumped into the San Francisco Bay since 2008 to support the fish. In 2016, Trump, then a presidential candidate, claimed that there was no drought and that policies redirecting water "out to sea" were harming farmers.

Then San Diego rejects desalination projects because to too much saline dumping into the ocean.

1 inch of rain, in the rainy season is 1 billion gallons of run off from LA. Which is not captured and treated. It could be used for agriculture irrigation.

The top radical fearmonger activists here are low intelligence and low in honesty.

Both have neurotic obsession of labeling people that don't buy their craziness as conspiracy theorists.

Dr John Christy Professor of atmospheric science.

He took 102 big shot warmists. Pulled up their models and predictions 20 years ago. Compared their predictions with actual temps. 102 were not even close. None were close. All were way way off and predicted much warmer than actual.
Northern states in the lesser 48 are warned about a record blizzard coming, because of warming.

While it's true that the vast majority of cities in southern California obtains a portion of their drinking water from the Colorado River, watersheds that supply the Great Salt Lake's closed basin include the Jordan River watershed, the Weber River watershed, and the Bear River watershed*. There are other minor watersheds that also supply water to the lake. The Colorado River is not a part of this ecosystem.

_________ ?? ?️

* Wikipedia: "The lake's three major tributaries, the Jordan, Weber, and Bear rivers together deposit around 1.1 million tons of minerals in the lake per year. Since the lake has no outlet besides evaporation, these minerals accumulate and give the lake high salinity and density. "

102 out of 102 made alarmist predictions.

Not a single one was anywhere near close.

no

I was just wondering if you associate climate denial with Evangelicalism.

I’ve always taken it for granted, but I just looked it up on Pew. White Evangelicals are the only group in America where more people deny climate change than accept it.

Evangelicals are the group most likely to believe the 2020 election was stolen, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. COVID Denial was also largest among white Evangelicals.

I’m curious what the association is with Evangelicals and anti-intellectualism.
Fundie atheeist and a religious rantra.

Here is the long answer.

I associate people who call you people into question as skeptical, and using critical thinking and common sense.

Since I actually have a career working in a scientific field, your predictions are of particular interest.

And since a general claim about science is it's power lay in it's predictions, you have rendered yourself irrelevant.

It's a quick short circuit of your position.

Now that climate predictions are full of inaccurate and baseless predictions you are now a boy crying wolf.

You'll need to work double time to correct it, need to work twice as hard to recover your professional credibility. Ya, that's how that works.
Since they don't come close on predictions, they need to ramp up their threats and pulpit pounding fear merchants.

Earthquakes are sometimes deadly. We also see them Mannnsplain earthquakes caused by global warming.

California gets about 40% of a river they should get 0% of, no doubt. The river runs through a multi state desert than cannot support large human populations. But it's done anyway. Then, stories come out with people shocked faced when they have water issues

Since it's a desert and the Colorado is in drought, everything else in the region will be in drought, including the great big salt lick that you are worried about.

The problem, as per usual, is man.

The desert has all the water it needs to support a desert population.

These activists are solid political.

They leave out facts.

The Green river runs into the Colorado. It is west of the continental divide. Yellowstone massive flood was across the Divide and ran east.

The Mexican Water Treaty of 1944 committed the U.S. to deliver 1.5 million acre-feet of water to Mexico on an annual from the Colorado.

"The Landsat image above, a composite of two Landsat images acquired in June 1985, shows the lake when water elevation levels were unusually high (4,209.7 feet/1,283.1 meters), due to a string of years with heavy rains and large amounts of runoff from melting snow. "

"Westminster College biologist Bonnie Baxter pointed to humans as a key driver of the drawdown. “We have been diverting water for housing and agriculture in the Wasatch Valley for about a century,” she said. “The diversions have grown particularly intense during the past few decades as more and more people have moved to the Wasatch Front.”

So what does this have to do with the topic of this thread?

We listened to a song in church last night "I am no longer a slave to fear"

Since they do not have convincing science, they use fear. Today the same person will not mention Lake Oroville in California is up 80 feet, in 3 months.

It is GLOBAL warming so cherry picking just one lake is poor sampling technique. Lake Oroville was over flowing 2-3 years ago.

20 years ago, Climate Progress said the Southwest Us Drought would become permanent. Australia also had a recent extensive flooding event which happens every few years.

Too many greenie weenies in California that fight against solutions to water shortages.

So the fertile irrigation farms in California depend on Lake Shasta and oroville (up 80 feet since November)

The water has a mineral content including a little salt. when farmers irrigate, water evaporates and salt doesn't Salt builds up and farmers said land would have too much salt and crops would die.

So greenie weenies wailed.

Then God sent a huge rain with runoff, the salt disolved and washed away.

People out East have a difficult time understanding water issues out West. Most see it through the eyes of California.

That's right: the "before" image makes the emergency more obvious. If the image had been of the lake at normal/average capacity, the difference would have been less visible.

You seem to be implying that, by comparing current levels with an above-average capacity, the emergency is being exaggerated somehow. To the contrary, it shows that the lake is losing A LOT of water.
