Baptism does not atone for sin.

Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3
Baptized into Christ Not water. The Holy Spirit baptizes (immerses) believers into one body (the body of Christ)

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

How does that relate to what I have stated??
At this point what you stated is irrelevant;
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him; 1 John 3:1

1 Peter 3;21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

What is the "like figure"? The like figure of baptism is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is an act of grace. (See Ephesians 2:8 and 9) For by grace are you saved; not baptism.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 not of works, lest any man should boast.
If it is possible, when you read 1 Peter 3 what is the like figure in the text?

This is an odd response since it ignores and disregards the question. A person will not reach a right understanding of 1 Peter 3 or any other section of Scripture by ignoring the immediate context.

So the same question is now asked to you, if it is possible, when you read 1 Peter 3 what is the like figure in the text?

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. Rom 6:4

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light; Eph 5:8

It seems that the tacit answer in your non responsive reply is that it is not possible for you to identify the like figure in 1 Peter 3. Thank you for sharing that.

Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal 3

What Scripture says in this regard has been shared numerous times in this thread. The response to which you replied was in reply to an objection to what Scripture actually says in 1 Peter 3.

That objection was based entirely on out of context passages which appear nowhere in 1 Peter 3 or the entire Epistle. In that regard your replies have a similar basis.

What Scripture says in this regard has been shared numerous times in this thread.
So far it's been shared on this board that water baptism is symbolic by one poster, while another poster claims that if you believe in the promises associated with baptism, then you will partake of the blessing in Christ.
Another poster emphatically shared that provided you have faith, water baptism takes away sin.
Yet another poster says it is the means whereby you become the the recipient of the new life in Christ.
Some clarification in the matter couldn't hurt, give a brother a hand.

Scripture is clear, the blessing is granted through faith:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment,
but has passed out of death into life." John 5:24

Everyone's viewpoint should be what any pericope says and means according to the God given perfect immediate context in which it was given.

The answer to the question asked is the water, the antecedent of the relative pronoun, in baptism is the antitype or like figure in 1 Peter 3, therefore, baptism does now save you through the resurrection of Christ. “20. who formerly disobeyed, when the longsuffering of God was waiting in the days of Noah, when the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;21. which as an antitype, baptism now also saves us—(not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22. who having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being subjected to Him.” (1Pe 3:20-22, EMTV)

The greater salvation occurs through baptism, the water with the word, rather than water in isolation from the word upon which God stakes His name.

Edited to add: The one who hears Jesus and believes the One who sent Him believes the one baptism from God does now save you/us through the resurrection of Christ.

Salvation is by grace through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— Eph 2

Obviously if a person has not repented, turned to God, to be belong to another, to Christ Jesus who was raised from the dead, such person is fruitless, dead in transgressions and sins.
If Christ has not been raised, your faith is mere delusion [futile, fruitless]; you are still in your sins.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those [baptized unto His death] who have fallen asleep. 1 Cor 15:17-20
He chose to give us a new birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created James 1:18
We ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, eagerly for our adoption to sonship; Rom 8:23

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 2 Thess 2:13

God is the truth teller. If someone misunderstands His word by refusing to receive or accept the perfect immediate context in which it was given then the problem is with the person who does such a thing.

What is obvious is the promise of God is greater than the opinion of His creatures who misunderstand Him or who oppose Him.
