Oh, pshaw! One's faith should be on JESUS, the Only one who can forgive our sins & save us from the penalty for sinning. NO act of man's such as baptism, can save someone. If one isn't already saved, baptism only results in a wet unforgiven sinner.
How is baptism a man's act when God commands it? Even had to be baptized to receive the fulness of Holy Spirit
JESUS went to the paradise area of hades Himself, as did the thief on the cross He saved. Difference is, Jesus left it while the thief is still there til Jesus calls all saints to Himself. (Remember, hades is divided into torments' & & paradise.)
If paradise is still a prison for dead saints then Jesus does not have the key to open it neither did he set the captives free...
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
I'm an indy fundy Baptist, so I'm certainly not against baptism. When I was saved, I was eager to be baptized, but it was wintertime & I had to wait over 4 months. But I was SAVED, & had I died first, I would've gone to paradise.
there is no OSAS, men must maintain their position in Christ.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
I don't live where it snows but I am sure people take baths in the winter.
Yes, every newly-saved person should be baptized ASAP, and I believe everyone who's truly saved eagerly desires to be baptized, but immediate baptism isn't always possible.
If one is saved without baptism what is the point of being baptized? Jesus likened baptism as righteousness...

(Our church has no indoor natatorium, and to baptize in the nearby creek in adverse weather would be to DARE GOD, something we're twice specifically commanded not to do.
So what is the point of being baptized if you are already saved?
