Just as a man is passive in his physical birth so to is that same man when it comes to his spiritual birth. See below for the Truth in the birth process its all Gods doing, not mans.

John 1:13
children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.

John 3:5
Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

Even Nicodemus was smart enough to understand the obvious below:

John 3:4
"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Can he enter his mother's womb a second time to be born?"

John 3:6
Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

James 1:18
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.

1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

hope this helps !!!

Except scripture shows

John 1:12–13 —ESV
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Man cannot make himself born again

but all who receive Christ God gives the right to be made children (tekna- borns one) 0f God

becoming a child of God is effected by regeneration

It is no different than all these other verses showing man is made alive through faith

John 5:24 —ESV
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

John 5:40 —ESV
“yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.”

John 20:31 —ESV
“but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

Eph. 2:5–8 —ESV
“even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,”

Col. 2:12–13 —ESV
“having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,”

and seeing as spiritual life is eternal

and Christs answer to Nicodemis question

John 3:9 —ESV
“¶ Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?””

is seen below

John 3:14–18 —ESV
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
¶ “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”

John 3:36 —ESV
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

John 6:40 —ESV
“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.””

John 6:47 —ESV
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.”

except a dead person has no stimulus with his body the same as one spiritually dead in their sins has no stimulus to life is the spirit. Both conditions of death are dead to stimuli.

Hence the necessity of a resurrection of the dead - life given by God in both cases. Both the physical and spiritual dead need new life and that life can only come from God.

Just as Lazarus could not come out of that grave until Jesus supernaturally gave him life and called him out of that grave neither can those dead in sin respond until they are given life (regeneration) to respond to Gods call.

Its really not that complicated. Dead is dead. Resurrection is resurrection, Regeneration is regeneration, born of the Spirit is born of the spirit.

Its all Gods control over life and death.

hope this helps !!!

If people meaning anyone from any religious persuasion would just look at this from a logical perspective without their premise it would be OBVIOUS that the natural birth is completely out of control of the baby being born.

The spiritual birth is no different hence Scripture makes those comparisons for a good reason.

hope this helps !!!

You say they are not the same or cannot be compared but that is not true.

Dead is dead and death is death. It applies to both physical death and spiritual death. Both concepts, ideas, facts are found in Scripture.

The differences between us Tom is I do not have to change the meaning of death whereas you change the meaning of death to fit your theology when it comes to spiritual life and death.

The meaning in my theology which I believe is mote sound or biblical that your ideas is that in mine death/dead has the exact same meaning as in the physical world-

An inability of the dead to react to stimuli/stimulus. A physically dead man cannot respond and neither can a spiritually dead man respond to stimuli from the spirit since they are dead spiritually.

If you for one minute looked at it without your personal beliefs I would be willing to bet you would agree.

hope this helps !!!

you simply cannot rationalize away positive didactic verses of scripture based upon a rationalization founded upon an assumed correlation between physical death and spiritual death

What name calling? Me exposing false teachers, devilish doctrines and blasphemies against God is not name calling. You're just bothered with the truth.
That is name calling

You have done nothing at all to show anything false

You have had plenty of opportunity but you have not even addressed my core verses

while you ran here and there from rationalization to rationalization still unable to prove your point with scripture
