Christ and the communication of attributes.

Dr. Cooper at Just And Sinner has been doing some podcasts on Christology. His latest covers the genus of majesty as presented in Scripture through a work written by R. F. Weidner.

Dr. Cooper gave the helpful reminder that what was being presented, abstract comments on Christ (A concrete statement would be regarding His person.), only came about as answers to misrepresentations of our Christology by others. In other words, they are used only to say that we don't say what these other groups are saying we say.

A couple of other interesting comments are that the ultimate reason he left the Reformed church was the difference between the Lutheran and Reformed interpretations of the omnipotence of Christ passages. He doesn't think they read the passages in a fair way (my paraphrase). And that the omnipresence of Christ is something we are given to believe rather than given as something to be understood according to a minute detailed explanation of how this is so.

A person can hear the podcast here. And if one wants to read along then that can be done here. In this edition the topic begins on page 90.
