What is the name of the Lord?Acts 10:48
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
I can PM you my address, check is fine.
What is the name of the Lord?
You must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.Just to clarify what YOU believe...
Is it okay to baptize someone "in the name of the Word"?
Is it okay to baptize someone "in the name of the Lamb"?
Etc.
Since as YOU point out... What is the name of the Word or the Lamb?
Can you show what formula was spoken over a person while actually being baptized?I will give $1000.00 to anyone that can find anybody in the N.T. church scriptures(Acts through Rev) that was water baptized any other way but in the name of Jesus Christ.
Scripture please. Can you show what formula was spoken over a person while actually being baptized?
The only evidence available that speaks to what formula to use is found in The Didache of the Twelve Apostles. This manual was written before or around the time Luke wrote the book of Acts. This is not scripture, but it is shows the formula that the 1st Century church used for baptism.
The Didache dating around the first-century dating (50-70 CE).
Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism. And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.
Please answer my question.Scripture please.
Thanks.

Acts 8:16...I will give $1000.00 to anyone that can find anybody in the N.T. church scriptures(Acts through Rev) that was water baptized any other way but in the name of Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:You must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.
Or else, every sin you have ever committed or ever will commit will precede you at the great white throne of God.
Scary stuff.
"Lord" is a title for Jesus.Acts 8:16...
For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus
Acts 19:5...
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 2:38...
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
Acts 10:48...
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.
WHAT IS THE CORRECT WAY...Lord Jesus...twice...Jesus Christ once...Lord once.
Why the different wording?
....as it was written to those that previously obeyed Acts 2:38.1 John 1:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
These 3 verses clearly tells us the BLOOD of Jesus Christ his SON cleanseth us from ALL SIN...if we sin after the new birth...if we confess our sins he forgives us...The BLOOD and CONFESSION of sins does the job...there's nothing left for water to remove!
You cannot prove what actual formula was spoken over a person while being baptized. You might want to withdraw your offer of $1000.00'In the name of Jesus Christ".
It is a name, not a "formula".
Scripture does not over ride scripture...they form a puzzle of correct doctrine...Like I said in my other post.....as it was written to those that previously obeyed Acts 2:38.
Sinners do not have permission to skip Acts and apply the Epistles to themselves.
This is mail theft.
Show anywhere where Paul's gospel of salvation requires your interpretation of Acts 2:38. Also, why not use Acts 3:19 as a means for salvation?....as it was written to those that previously obeyed Acts 2:38.

If someone is said to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in the Bible, was the name of Jesus Christ spoken?...You cannot prove what actual formula was spoken over a person while being baptized. You might want to withdraw your offer of $1000.00
The N.T. was put together in this order...Scripture does not over ride scripture...they form a puzzle of correct doctrine...Like I said in my other post.
The BLOOD of Jesus removes our sin...Confession of our sins removes unrighteousness.
The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin not WATER.
