Conversion, the result of regeneration.

Yes exactly
Please address these passages:

1 Cor. 12:3Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

1 These. 1: 4 For we know, brothersb loved by God, that he has chosen you,5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction.

That God made a way for spiritually dead folks to be Saved (and all the baggage that comes with that). It was 59 years ago for me in an upstairs apartment on Roe Drive, Houston, TX in the spring.

What does it teach you??
It shows us that God does all the saving, even while we were dead in trespasses.

It shows us that God does all the saving, even while we were dead in trespasses.
Since we were ALL "Dead in Trespasses" that's everybody. And Eph 2:8,9 states the mechainsm/process. FAITH gifted by God.

Simple as that - so what makes you think that Eph 2:5 is so supportive of the Calvinism paradigm???

The making alive precedes salvation by grace, and the faith granted, which are all in the order found in the text of Ephesians 2:5ff.

So, contrary to OTHER Calvinist voices here, Your version of "Regeneration" DOES NOT = salvation / being converted / being Born again.

It all happens together, regeneration is part and parcel to the salvation process. There is no salvation without regeneration, there is no regeneration without salvation.

Just more "Word Games" to defend man's "Theology".
No, it comes from the text of Ephesians 2. It draws out the process of salvation that comes from the work of Christ on the cross and resurrection.

Nevertheless, I'm not going to get into one of your "contests" so take care my friend.

Regeneration is the work of God the Holy Spirit as He supernaturally and immediately changes the disposition of the soul from spiritual death to spiritual life.
Conversion is a result of regeneration. When we are converted, we’re turned around and we move in a different direction.
Sproul.

Conversion according to scripture involves a change of mind, a change in the evaluation of things. After conversion a man fosters different views concerning God and Christ and sin and salvation than he did before his conversion.

1 Corinthians 2:
12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.

Regeneration is first in the order of salvation.
Another word or synonym for "conversion" is sanctification and it doesn't occur before salvific faith anywhere in scripture. It is a life long process. Regeneration is that rising in newness of life that scripture teaches and then not until we are baptized into Christ's death with him and that doesn't occur lacking faith in the person and work of Christ.

Paul is teaching the Corinthians on the proper use of spiritual gifts: “Therefore I want you to understand that … no one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit”

1 Cor. 12:4 For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you; 5 for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction

God chose then to hear the gospel, they chose to believe.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Regeneration is first in the order of salvation.

Regeneration is like surgery where God gives us a human spirit implant, making us capable of knowing spiritual things.

Conversion enters it's potential when God places on our nose reading glasses that we did not know existed.
That is when we begin to see things that we could not detect before.
Conversion commences when we choose not to ignore the directions placed before us that we have been made able to see.

There are at least two forms of conversion.

One is the behavioral transformation as God (by means of the Spirit) causes our flesh to cease having dominion over our soul.

Two is the mental transformation. A transformation that takes place when exposed to sound doctrinal teaching, causing us to have
thoughts that hopefully agree with God's Word. Thus being made able to walk together with God in our experiences.

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

Amos 3:3

If the Holy Spirit did not suppress the desires of the flesh over our soul when the Gospel was given? No one would believe.

When presented the Gospel? God supplies his enabling power of grace as to suppress our flesh. With our flesh locked up and silenced,
that grace enables so that our soul was made free to choose for itself what to believe.

When under his grace to decide? A soul remains free to reject the Gospel. Its just no longer the flesh determining the outcome.
Grace does not guarantee that one will believe. Grace only guarantees that one is being made free to make his own choice.
A choice without the flesh over riding our soul's thinking which would have defaulted to rejecting God.

God's foreknowledge? God foreknew those being enabled by grace how they would choose to believe. A choice made while that person was being given the grace needed to be made free from the tyranny of their flesh.

Without grace being supplied? No one could believe.
With grace supplied? Those who reject are left without excuse.

Not if you believe the bible

regeneration makes one alive

faith precedes life

John 20:31 (KJV 1900) — 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

When God gives us what?
A “human” spirit?
How many of you other free willers agree with this?

Why don’t you stop shouting this nonsense.
Try really considering what the word says
.

Good luck to you.

Without Christ you can do nothing.

Someone can try all they like and believe in a Jesus their mind made up (created). But the Jesus of the Bible? Haha, your free will can do you no good. The fleshly mind hates God and his ways. If you love and believe in a Jesus all on your own, it’s an idol.
Just like the golden calf.

@fltom
This Jesus your idol factory created you can believe in and have faith in first. But it will do you no good of course, because it’s not the real Jesus of the Bible. It’s your own idol you created so you can act like you’re regenerated then. Don’t worry, your free will, will convince you you’re regenerated. And since you’ll be convinced of it, it will then be much easier for you to take scripture from its context and reconstruct the meaning according to the new dream world.
The free will cheerleaders will even cheer you on. They are experienced at the same thing, it will be a wonderful time.

Your statement “faith precedes life” has nothing to do with the verse you pasted.
I know your trying very hard to manipulate scripture to support your view. But you can’t do it.

The gospel is foolishness to the world and those who are perishing. But it is what we must believe. And when our eyes are open through regeneration, we find ourselves believing.

The true gospel is as the reformed teach. But to you it is foolishness. What does that tell ya?
