Covid Mistakes

In order of magnitude:

Quarantines and shutting businesses.

Not directing resources toward the most vulnerable groups immediately; those who were known early on, and instead directing resources to the general population even though risk assessment by age and condition is decisive.

Measuring impact of the virus by "new cases".

Allowing non-elected bureaucrats to make public policy decisions.

Having no mask studies that are proof of causation and using those that have casual proof to claim that masks work.

Exalting and overemphasizing the effectiveness of the vaccines and not allowing any data to the contrary in the public forum.

Vaccines alone: prevent the spread vs. Therapeutics: retard the effect if acquired. The first was chosen the second ignored.

Pretending that vaccines are adequate to "stop the spread".

Making companies fire people who are not at risk because they won't use the much touted vaccines. Most of pushback comes from women of child bearing age who are asked to take the jab without knowing its effect on being able to bear children in the future.

Dr. Fauci provides advice, he does not make decisions. He advises the elected politicians who make the decisions.
Valid point. Of course, they deduced a political price to pay if they got rid of Fauci and Birx since these had allies in the media who would have screamed bloody murder during an election year.

Fauchee would have a terrible price to pay if he disregarded Pharma pressure and suggested early therapies.

What non-elected bureaucrats are making public policy decisions? SCOTUS justices?
CDC, NIH, OSHA, Police departments, City health officials, school administrators. There is no doubt about it. But the bigger problem was the idea of government closing private businesses for "health reasons" that were non-scientific.

What about thinking this is about a pandemic when it's really about population control.

Who then place the duty upon bureaucrats to make individual decisions related to citizens.
The elected politicians who appointed those bureaucrats. The elected Mayor of Anytown appoints the bureaucrats who staff the Anytown Town Hall.

Sending grandma to the nursing home with a body bag in tote.

Not sure where you live but mayors don't "appoint" town hall staff in this country.

Closing businesses was just the leftists way of destroying the economy. That was an extra benefit for them
