I don't see this as a zero sum game. People compete for power and positions, and that competition should be on a level playing field that can include minorities as well as white Christians. People should succeed on the basis of merit, not on the basis of what group they belong to, or who their parents are.

Putting aside the zero sum question, people with well educated, wealthy parents will be (on average, of course: lots of exceptions) better educated and more skilled that those from disadvantaged backgrounds. So merit is often a product of accidents of ancestry. What does one do about that?
I think white liberals should give up their stranglehold on power. They are very reluctant to do so. Bad liberals.

That questions a literal pillar of human societies: the effect of wealth upon opportunity. I would humbly submit that this is a fundamentally different discussion from the one about racial effects on the same thing.

Only indirectly, because it affects people independent of their race. Racial disparity is magnified by wealth-inequality; it is not caused by it.
Lots of problems are magnified by wealth inequality, but reducing those problems to wealth inequality is reductionist.

It isn't very indirect if you are on the receiving end of it. Whole communities are disenfranchised because of poverty, and it is very hard to get out of those communities. One cannot reduce everything to wealth inequality, but the importance of wealth in our society is enormous: it predicts education, longevity, child mortality, on and on and on, and one of the principle ways it does so in the USA is by re-enforcing racial disparities. There are a million studies on this.
So: if you believe in levelling the playing field, and achievement based on merit, what position should you take when a lot of merit is unearned, and in very fact based on social inequality?
There is no such thing as "racial disparity" or “racial inequality” in America. But in reality there is just more whites in the population and in a democracy the vote requires a majority rule.
However, the whites in the Democratic Party who are and were always the party of slavery, and these racist whites in the Democratic Party have been hoarding blacks and other minorities into ghettos for decade and pandering and enslaving them with welfare and food stamps. By keeping them segregated and angry with the rest of the population with lies of inequality, when in reality it is only white Democrats who keep blacks and minorities enslaved in the ghettos. And only take them out during election time, when they need them to do their fighting and dirty work for them. This is a direct quote from the 36th President of the USA, Democrat Lyndon B Johnson he said: ‘I’ll Have Those N*****s Voting Democratic for 200 Years’. And for the most part he has kept his promise.
