Does God love everyone ?

In order to maintain God’s sovereignty in election then, or to promote God’s glory, Calvinism denies that God loves everyone in the truest sense. Like Walls, I find this denial difficult to swallow. A god who can save all but chooses not to is not the God whom the Bible reveals, a God who is love (1 John 4:8).

Can it possibly make any sense to suggest that Love does not love or that Love hates?

The Father who is love is a person.
Spirit is not a person. Spirit is the disposition of the person. God is a Spirit, Love is a Spirit, but man is the temple of Him. Man is the temple of God. See Luke 17:20-21.

Im always amazed at how many never has met Him to know who He is.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2Pet. 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Ezekiel 33:11
Say to them: 'As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'

1) This is directed at Israel, not everyone.

2) The death of the wicked is because of God's JUSTICE, not His "pleasure".

3) If God doesn't will that they die, and they die anyway, that makes your god impotent.

1 Timothy 2:4
who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Amen God loved the whole world ( all sinners ) without exception as per John 1:29, 3:16 , 1 John 2:2.

Is this "merciful" love you speak of as we all know God doesn't immediately punish people for their sins. Some may even see it as benevolence love as it also rains on the fields of the evil.

Does God love everyone? In one sense yes. Does God love Christians more than non-Christians? Yes.

So God didn't love you when you were a child of wrath like the rest in Ephesians 2.

Yours Truly, Team Truth !

hope this helps !!!

You see, @Alexander the adequate ... They refuse to address our responses to these "proof-texts", but simply high-five each other and post them over over again. This is why productive discussion with "Team Pelagius" is impossible.

Do men die?

1 Timothy 2:3–4 (KJV 1900) — 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Does "all men" mean "all individuals" (as you unBiblically ASSUME)?
Or does it mean "all groups", "all kinds of men", which is consistent with the usage in v.1?

Clearly it doesn't mean "all individuals", since God did NOT "have [all individuals]" to be saved, since some are condemned.

Well if the holy Ghost wanted us to understand all kinds of men or all groups of men he could have inspired Paul to write that but he did not

The sad fact is you will not allow the word of God to speak for itself

He inspired all men

all modifies men not kinds or groups which do not appear in the verse

This is nothing but worthless ratoinalization.
Watch this:

"Well if the Holiy Ghost wanted us to understand all individuals he could have inspired Paul to write that but he did not".

Oops!

Rationalization like that is NOT how one does exegesis.

The sad fact is you will not allow the word of God to speak for itself

Ad hominem.

He inspired all men

Right.
He did NOT inspire "all individuals".

Oops!

all modifies 'men' not 'individuals' which does NOT appear in the verse.
