I'd say the following photograph is worth substantially more than 1,000 words...

"Everybody's going to die anyway, why rush it?" The funeral Director was heard to have said…

Now there's a man who is confident in his business plan!

That is really pretty clever...but again, doubt it will make a difference with anyone.
Yes, I thought it was clever, too, but I agree it probably won't help change anyone's mind.

Alberta is having what is probably one of the worst outbreaks of COVID in North America. Vaccination rates in our largest cities of Edmonton and Calgary are excellent, but unfortunately many rural Albertans have swallowed the anti-vaccine Kool-Aid. We had 29 COVID deaths yesterday which, on a per capita basis, would be equivalent to the US having 2,200 daily deaths (the US seven day average of deaths is 1,640, substantially better than the Alberta rate but nothing to be proud of).

Basically, all of Alberta's hospitals are being filled with rural Albertans who refuse to be vaccinated. We implemented vaccine passports yesterday for people who want to go to restaurants, bars, casinos, concerts, etc., so hopefully that will help.

As an aside: I am amused by posters in this forum who think all Canadians are Marxists when, in reality, Canadians living in parts of Canada such as Alberta and Saskatchewan make the inhabitants of most conservative US states look like commie pinkos. I am, without a doubt, more conservative than the majority of the Trump supporters who post in this forum.

I too am just as conservative as many of the Trump supporters and anti-C-vaxxers on here. But I am labeled a left-winger, simply because I do lots of research in respected scientific and medical sources and refuse to believe many of the conspiracy theories and false statements made about the disease and the vaccine. I get tired of being accused of being something I am NOT.

What conservative views do you hold, ma'am?

Just curious.

1. Abortion is wrong, except to save the mother's life, which is pretty rare. I am pro-life.
2. I don't believe in macro-evolution, or an ancient earth, though I do believe in micro-evolution and natural selection, up to a point, and a sort of middle-aged earth. I believe what Genesis says about God creating the earth and everything in it.
3. I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God and all that we need to know for eternal salvation is within its pages.
4. I don't believe in vilifying anyone on here, or folks not on here--like Fauci, Trump, Pelosi, Carlson, Milley, Biden, et. al., even if it is not against the rules to do so. Nor do I believe in vilifying and mocking groups in general that don't believe as I do about things in 1-3, like atheists and agnostics or deists.

That is all I will say I am not interested in debating these things; I am only interested in discussing the vaccine, virus, and sometimes, the supposed election fraud.

And thanks for calling me "ma'am" instead of "dear" which is much more respectful. :)

Okay, you do sound pretty conservative. Thanks for the answer.

I respect that. CARM is not a fun place to debate certain things.

I mean no offense, but are you vaccinated yourself? I remember you saying you had some religious concerns about the vaccine.

I'm from the South, everybody says "ma'am" there.

I posted recently about a private company Hillenbrand.
They sell and rent ICU hospital beds. Especially the more high tech beds used in ICU. They sell, service and install the complex wall systems you see in ICU. They dominate their sector.
They also own Batesville Casket Company. There are 2 companies which control 80% of the casket business.
Their hospital bed brand is Hill-Rom. Fao Chi boosted their business.

Yes. I am fully vaccinated as is everyone in our family, except my sister, who reacts badly to most vaccines. I never had any religious scruples against the vaccine, per se, but it depended upon the vaccine. I put down a link on here last April from a pro-life group, that listed all the available vaccines, who made them, and how, and from what. I will see if I can refind it and repost it.

Well, that is mostly true, and I live in Georgia. But "sweetheart" and "sweetie" seemed to have replaced "ma'am" a lot down here, which grates on me, as I am 70 years old.
