Not so long ago, in 1985, Roman Catholic Fr. Gilbert Gauthe of Layfayette, Louisiana, confessed to sexually molesting 11 boys, and then later he confessed to molesting dozens more. Fr. Gauthe, the Roman Catholic priest began molesting a lad by the name of Scott Gastal when the child was only 7 years of age. One attorney would later say, Father Gauthe engaged boys in "every sexual act you can imagine two males doing."

At the young age of only 9 years, Scott described how the ordained Roman Catholic priest befriended him and made him feel appreciated as an altar boy. And, just like other boys at the parish, Scott stayed overnight at the rectory on several weekends. In the course of these stays, Father Gauthe engaged him in play and then coerced him into oral and anal sex.

The rapes continued, but the little boy remained too frightened and confused to tell his parents. "Scott", as Michael De'Antonio writes in "Mortal Sins" was most affected by the memory of Father Gauthe ejaculating in his mouth and forcing his erect penis into his rectum. Once he was injured so severely injured by the perverted Roman Catholic priest, that he reported the bleeding to his parents, hours after the assault, and had to be treated at a hospital." Father Gauthe was sentenced to a measley 20 years in prison, and out-of-court settlements which amounted to over $5 million dollars, were made to the victims.

And this is the same institution that employs these hideous priests to perform a magic act during Mass and claim that they turn bread and wine into the body and blood of the Son of God - and who also sit in judgment of those hapless, ignorant Roman Catholics who kneel before these pervs and confess their sins! Why do Roman Catholics turn a blind eye to this kind of stuff - and even worse things - that has gone on for centuries??? It's mind-boggling!

I don't think that anyone knows the true cost to the victims. It's not about dollars, it's about thinking of themselves as completely unworthy.

How can Roman Catholics remain loyal to ANY organization, much less their religious institution, that perpetrates, covers up and continues to promote such crimes?

My big question and why I started the thread on Risdale, is what action has the RCC taken about these priests. Are they laicized?

Please priests do not represent Christ and therefore should be expelled as Paul said should happen to sexual sinners.

I mean the toll on the victims is great and some never recover, we all know some have committed suicide (even though the RCC does not want to recognize that fact).

it can't, but it is the great pretender (deceiver). It will be held accountable for all of the lost souls it has deceived.

The problem is the RCC laity as well, they do not demand that these priests be laicized. That these priests are expelled as the scriptures say should be done. They get justifying the actions of their institution. They need to demand more, they need to stand up for the victims. They need to demand changes. But there is only an odd few who do make demands.

The thread is this man laicized. He told those who he abused to pray for forgiveness, that if they said anything, their family members would die. So not only were these children (and he abused both boys and girls) abused, but then he tortured them mentally.
