I'm not sure what you're asking.

Every talmid with his or her morah's or Rebbe's tries to teach in a manner that will reach their students.

All of Torah is important.

where they are sort of saying

"well you could do such and such and such"
"or you could do blah blah and blah"
'or...maybe you could just Love each other? you think you could try to do that?"
people focus on the first stuff or the second stuff as if they are Commanded
but IMO He really is just teaching them to Love

Not just one, but several. Orthodoxy has elements of mysticism, rationalism, mussar, chassidism, etc.

It really depends on who one's teacher is, and what one is drawn to. I prefer the more rational side.

All learning of Torah and God should be for the sake of love. Shema...

Praying while drunk, while possible, is problematic. Particular if you're a kohen (priest). You might get a DUI (davening under influence).
