Do the congregations go along with this?
It's interesting for them.

A lot of their big city churches are quite progressive. There are still rural ELCA's that are "conservative" but they are few and far between and they are supposed to follow suit. In Canada we have the ELCIC that's split down the middle, and they are very progressive as well however it seems individual congregations get to decide their stances. I left the ELCIC where some want to stay and fight. LCC is my home now. I couldn't associate in a denomination that goes on tv to parade gay priests "dO yOu LiKe uS yEt sInNeRs?"

What is really sad is the message they are sending out is that Christ is not inclusive, that is, that He didn't come to save sinners. Therefore, the proclamation of be reconciled to God on account of His reconciling the world to Himself through the blood of His Son has become breakout the plaster and whitewash and you will be welcome in our circle.

That is a difficult question to answer without going into how the sausage is made. The short answer is through decades of miscatechism some do, otherwise, so many things would not have happened in that organization.
This event was San Francisco. Not Fargo North Dakota.

Yes, this decision by the ELCA didn't happen overnight. Bad theology and bad practice has a point of origin. If it is not checked it will spread.

It shouldn't surprise anyone if the effect of this decision follows the pattern of female ordination in the ELCA. If I recall correctly, it too began years ago with a congregation in SF and eventually there were more female ordinations.

The method used to attempt justifification of both is the same, it is through a misuse and abuse of the gospel. Instead of it being the proclamation of the forgiveness of sins, etc, on account of the person and work of Christ it is being used as law or a club to justify the idea or cause of choice.

Odd. We all (including you) deserve hell apart from faith in Christ. Your view of loving your neighbor as yourself, like the rest of us, needs work.
And you and BJ are still heretics.

Very interesting to watch a debate between Rohrer and Gagnon. Rohrer's opening was that she is going to heaven and god loves lgbtq+, which of course we cant judge. But everything she assumed was refuted by Gagnon.
But when she rallied against lgbtq+ bullying Gagnon revealled some of her pre interview insults.
The lgbtq+ ideology is a lie.

Yes primarily eeOne cant love ones neighbour by not loving God. Jesus said first love God. The NT teaching is to rebuke each other where false teaching occurs.
