For Atheists, What is the Purpose of Evil in this World?

I am fascinated when Christians do this. They come into CARM all full of themselves and ready to show up some atheists. Then when they are backed into a corner and realize they cannot prove a single thing they claims suddenly they 'do not care' what people think - lol.
... and in a forum dedicated to Christian apologetics, no less.

So show empirical evidence god does not exist
I have never made this claim - it is your continued straw man. It demonstrates that you have no evidence for God and you cannot argue with me honestly.

Every time you post this is diminishes your argument and credibility. And you post it a lot.

Yes you do - its atheisms claim
Those are two different things. What I claim is one thing. You can just ask me. What you think atheism claims is different.

You are incapable of debating me so instead you debate your straw man of atheism which ignores the definition of atheism.

I do not know what you hope to accomplish. You know I do not believe this. And yet you continue to argue your straw man. It will not zing me because it is not what I believe. You will not get a meaningful debate on your straw man because I do not believe it.

The only thing that is happening is you are posting against your straw man. I guess this is fun for you? I dunno.

Anyhoo - I do not think we can prove God or Zeus or Osiris does not exist.

Unsupported - and projection.

If you are an atheist you have because thats what atheism is.

And thus rendering atheism an argument from ignorance and atheism and yourself irrational and illogical.

Shifting the burden.

Yes contradiction because you claims you dont know then you claim you know

Again contradiction - how do you know the universe and your very life is not that evidence?

Shifting the burden

So you cannot know it was natural thus you contradict your self AGAIN with your " I've seen no evidence of the supernatural during my lifetime" - if you dont know then you cannot know you have not seen evidence for the supernatural.

No that is not the sole definition of Atheism as you well know.
Again I have not made a claim so no argument from ignorance.
You are dodging the question.
Again I haven't made a claim.
Can you show me that the universe and my very life are evidence of the supernatural?
Again you are dodging the question.
If you can tell me what parameters to use to evaluate supernatural intervention I will gladly re-examine my experience.
Until then you've given me nothing to work with.

Its your cherry picking as you well know.
Again I have not made a claim so no argument from ignorance.
Yes you have - This post is a claim.
You are dodging the question.
Projection and unsupported.
Again I haven't made a claim.
See above.
Can you show me that the universe and my very life are evidence of the supernatural?
Avoiding the question - shifting the burden - being a HYPOCRITE
Again you are dodging the question.
Projection
If you can tell me what parameters to use to evaluate supernatural intervention I will gladly re-examine my experience.
Until then you've given me nothing to work with.
Shifting the burden

Christians are welcome to respond.

What is the Purpose of Evil

People do evil for many reasons, but self-gratification and self-advancement are the two that cover all the evils I can think of.

People do evil because they enjoy it, because it furthers their own interests, or both.
