Former Believers Are Still Saved

Former believers are still saved, because He still abides in them

2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Paul gives an example of a former believer for why that foundation laid by Jesus Christ cannot be removed just as that seal of adoption is not going anywhere.

2 Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

This is why Jesus is denying professing saved believers for being workers of iniquity in Matthew 7:21-23 & Luke 13:24-30 because any work of iniquity is really denying Him. You do not have to be a former believer denying Him verbally to be denied by Him, but for being a unrepentant worker of iniquity is why saved believers can be denied by Him as a reprobate which is to be disqualified to attend the Marriage Supper in Heaven.

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Former believers are still saved for why they are still to be called to go to Jesus Christ at that throne of grace for help to see the truth to expose the lies so they can depart from iniquity and with His help, be set free and kept free from any sins that got a hold of them so they can walk in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son.

As His disciples, and by the grace of God & His help, we are not to condemn anyone as not saved or not a true Christian, because they are still His for why we seek their good in the Lord to be that vessel unto honor in His House which is the eternal glory that comes with our salvation by departing from iniquity that led them astray.

2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.... 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

I think the following verse is also interesting...

Jn 6:56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him
Since the OP is addressing those who no longer believe in Him rather than to those who do not take communion for more than just in remembrance of Him, you should take pause.

You will not find scripture testifying or rebuking those who do not take communion for more than just in remembrance of Him are not remaining in Him or He in us. To insinuate that from John 6:56 would be considered not rightly dividing the word of truth when the OP has scripture addressing former believers that He still abides.

So for the former believer to repent, it is by believing in Him again. Then they are abiding in Him and not just Him abiding in them when they were former believers.

In a lot of ways, taking communion as if His Presence is in the bread and the wine to receive Him in that way is denying that He has been received since our salvation. The Mass can be considered a work of iniquity that denies Him being in us if one has to receive Him again for why He would deny professing believers by.

I call you brother because you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ & that God has raised Him from the dead and He says you are saved. There is no need to receive Him again when He has never left you since you had been saved. That is why we are to prove all things and abstain from all appearances of evil with His help so that we do not say nor do things that gives the appearance of evil like denying Him in any shape or form or fashion in hypocrisy.

If Jesus wanted us to do communion for more than in remembrance of Him, He would not have bothered to say that to do this in remembrance of Him. He would just say what the RCC says communion is for as the RCC is emphasizing that as for what the Mass is for, But Jesus never said that. His emphasis was on remembering Him and not for what the RCC says they are doing communion for.

Explain how the prodigal son can come back, even though he lost his inheritance to wild living and can never get it back.

The only answer I can discern with Him is because he is still son.

It is those unrepentant saints and former believers left behind from having the Marriage Supper in Heaven with the Bridegroom & inheriting their mansion in the City of God that is lost, but they will be resurrected after the great tribulation to serve the King of kings on earth from all over the world in raising up the generations following in that 1000 year reign on earth as they will eat from the tree of life in the City of God.

The firstfruits of the resurrection do not need to eat from the tree of life in the City of God for they will be like the angels in Heaven that never marry nor can die.

No. Disobedient ,rebellious, unforgiving, foolish, etc. Will not be resurrected till after the Sabbath Rest (millennial kingdom) at the second resurrection.

Learn what this means......"Today, if you hear His voice....." Ps. 95 Heb. 3&4

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

There is no casting out of His hand nor kingdom, but there is a casting out as in being disqualified as a reprobate from attending the Marriage Supper in His honor in Heaven. This is where the vessels unto dishonor comes from that are still in His House as they will be resurrected after the great tribulation.

There is a call to depart from iniquity in looking to Him for help in running that race, but it is still done by faith & by the grace of God as our hope all rests in Jesus Christ but this is why He will finish His work even in those left behind.

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Why would the Father give rebellious disobedient unforgiving or just plain foolish children to Jesus?

Apparently you have ignored the passage of scripture I gave you. Understanding that passage will help you realize your error.

Why would the Father give rebellious disobedient unforgiving or just plain foolish children to Jesus?
It is because the power of God in salvation is for Jesus to save even those that believe in His name.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

But not every saved believer will take heed by what they build on that foundation. Indeed, some saved believers do not get discipled in studying His words to be rooted in Him for when the cares of this life or persecution takes their eyes off of Him to the storms of this life, that they fall away.

And even though saved believers, whether carnal and thus in iniquity or fell away & became former believers, are denied by Him to attend the Marriage Supper in Heaven as vessels unto honor in His House which is the eternal glory that comes with our salvation, He still abides in those unrepentant saints & former believes left behind for why they are called the vessels unto dishonor in His House. That is a damnation because they can never be received as vessels unto honor in His House after the rapture event.

Do consider the prodigal son that gave up his inheritance for wild living. Although the prodigal son can never get it back, he is still son.

If you discern how many professing believers have fallen away from the faith ( which means they had faith before they fell away ) and Jesus will not lose any of all the Father has given Him, then you may understand by Him how we apply our confidence towards ourselves that He will finish His work in us to His glory in helping us daily to lay aside every weight & sin, to be received by the Bridegroom, then you can apply that same confidence in Him to those left behind that He will finish His work in them by burning off of that foundation all things that offend & defile.
Apparently you have ignored the passage of scripture I gave you. Understanding that passage will help you realize your error.

"Today if you hear His voice hatden not your heart......." Ps. 95 Heb. 3/4
The passages still apply for why Jesus has been warning saved believers to be ready or else, but none of those passages teaches loss of salvation, but loss of their first inheritance, that eternal glory of being received by Him as that vessel unto honor in His House. That loss will be felt; it will be keen, for why God will have to perform a miracle on all those coming out of the great tribulation to help them get past that loss as there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, thus God will wipe the tears from their eyes to make them stop.

Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

You are making this way more complicated than it is.......way too many words for some simple truth.

Now you say God's children cannot loose their salvation. To that I kinda agree, depending on what your definition of "salvation" is.

So let me make this as simple and clear as it gets.

All of God's children HAVE ETERNAL LIFE and will live with God in the forever. In that sense, all God's children are eternally saved. But concerning those who , as you say "fall away", these will be punished. Although they are eternally saved they will be cast into prison for their rebellion, disbelief, unforgiveness or just plain foolishness. This prison I am speaking about is hell. This will be a just punishment for the naughty children of God who failed to overcome love of self, who failed to love Jesus and keep His commandments; but loved themselves and things of this world more than Jesus. BUT.......BUT this prison sentence is NOT eternal damnation! God forbid. God would NEVER fail one of His children...... punish them? Yes, absolutely. And this punishment is not inheriting the age to come, the millennial kingdom, the Sabbath Rest of God. These disobedient etc. children of God will be redeemed at the second resurrection after being judged for how they lived their lives while physically alive.

Now I have just told you the truth. The Bible teaches what I just wrote and the Holy Spirit will confirm what I just wrote IS THE TRUTH. To say otherwise will created contradictions with the teachings of Jesus and the word of God! What I just wrote cannot be refuted by the word of God!

Now , with the truth I just told you, please go back and re-read (if you even did read it) the passage of Ps. 95 and the further explanation found in Hebrews 3/4. And pay attention to the declaration of God, "As I (God) swore in My wrath, 'They shall NOT enter into MY rest.'". Notice it did not say "As I swore in My wrath, 'They shall be eternally damned'." ? But they shall not enter into MY REST.

This is the firstfruits of the resurrection also known as the great also known as the vessels unto honor in His House.

Luke 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

That is the glory of the celestial inheritance where they live with God in that city of God that will one day come down to earth.

There is a glory of the terrestrial where the power of the second death will not be over them as they will marry, serve the King of kings in raising up the generations during the 1000 year reign on earth, and eat from the tree of life in the City of God on earth.

So ask yourself, why would they need to eat from the tree of life if they were liken unto the firstfruits of the resurrection? They would not need to do that but yet these saints do, because they are not of the firstfruits but they are the least in the kingdom of heaven also known as the vessels unto dishonor in His House.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

This is what happens to the disobedient. They become the least in the kingdom of heaven.

2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

When a saint depart from iniquity with His help & by His grace, they can be received as vessels unto honor in His House.

But if they do not depart from iniquity by the time the Bridegroom comes, they will be denied to be received as vessels unto honor in His House to attend the marriage Supper in heaven but left behind to be resurrected after the great tribulation to serve the King of kings on earth as vessels unto dishonor as 2 Timothy 2:20 testify that those vessels of earth & wood are in His House. Hopefully, the Lord will help you see.
