People may know Grigori Perelman, at one time considered one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. He solved many complex conjectures in different fields of mathematics. He won the Fields Medal (considered by many to be the top prize in mathematics), which he refused to show up to accept stating "I'm not interested in money or fame; I don't want to be on display like an animal in a zoo.". He also won the Clay Millennium Prize for resolution of the Poincaré conjecture. On 1 July 2010, he rejected the prize of one million dollars, saying that he "didn't do mathematics for prizes".

Shortly thereafter he supposedly quit mathematics and disappeared. Rumors were he was living with his mother in her apartment in St. Petersburg. This photo taken in December 2023 at an intersection in St. Petersburg is believed to be him. The person who took the photograph said he was wearing tattered clothes, was unshaven, had long fingernails and needed a bath. Imagine what he could have accomplished if things had been different. Sad.

I'm thinking that a ghostwriter should attempt to write his story through a series of interviews, perhaps, simply because Grigori is a part of history that should be told.

I think one book was written about him and one person made a documentary. But they could not locate him or he refused to speak to anyone, so the book and documentary interviewed people who knew him.

I found a biography ---> here.

Formally, he was / is a EE that taught mathematics, plays the violin and is a skilled chess player . His skillsets in mathematics are mainly attributed to his parents and one particular professor named Valery Ryzhik.
