Grim milestone: 1 in 500 Americans died from Covid-19

Yes, I know...so? I have read two books on it-THE PLAGUE OF THE SPANISH LADY in 1993, and more recently, THE GREAT INFLUENZA. Both are very good, especially the second one.

But right now, with this Delta variant, we are seeing a surge of hospitalized infected younger people in the 18-49 age group. NOT so many deaths, but certainly, many infections in this age group that require hospitalization--it is happening in my state.

Our older grandson, 17, has covid. He started coming down with it late Sunday, had a low-grade fever, cough, and some congestion on Monday. Our daughter took him to their doctor, where he tested positive for covid with the PCR test. He is somewhat better today, no fever, but lost his sense of smell, and is still somewhat congested. His whole family is in quarantine. Fortunately, he and his younger brother can still go to "virtual" school. So far, this grandson is the only one with symptoms. No one else is sick. They have all been vaccinated, since April.
I hope you gave your grandson ivermectin.

Here's another way to spread misinformation. Just tell a boldface lie that carries an emotional hook. Be on the lookout for loaded words that are totally inappropriate, and in fact a lie.

Because they are.
Tell me why I should believe you when you tell me the hospitals are splitting at their seems with covid patients?

No one is forcing the vaccine on EVERYONE. That would be 100% of the population, would it not?

But it appears to be true. I used the much-maligned snopes on here to check this out, only the second time I have done so since coming on here back in late April--the same one YOU used on here once, to prove that something posted was fake news:

Here is another link:

I suspect other fact check web sites will also have something about this in the near future.

So, it appears to be true.
H course it's being forced. If people can't get that right how can they get anything else right.

And he will be fine. Had they out him on ivermectin he'd be better already.

I expect you already do believe it, but are enjoying the attention you get from taking a contrary position, sort of like how that one kid in elementary school always used to act out and make farting sounds in class. But even if you do believe what you are saying, I am not trying to convince you. I am posting for any readers of this forum who might be seriously unsure if the reports are true or not. If misinformation is not challenged, even when there is no hope of changing the minds of those propagating the misinformation, it is still worthwhile challenging it to keep those who are undecided from drawing the impression that everyone in this forum thinks the mainstream media is wrong.

Who are the ”ruling elites”?
edited out borderline rule 12 violation
Who do you trust?
You must trust top down unelected bureaucrats who do not have to go thru all the scrutiny of campaigning for positions of power. Certainly not fake news in which this garbage is all over. People are not dropping dead from COVID. It is just not happening.
Most right-wingers on this forum trust crazy, conspiracy blogs
Organized crime is no conspiracy. Lying to the public is legal. The common good is not congruous to the money and power interests of Fauci, Biden et all with their phony appeals to health for all thru unneeded and harmful forced C-19 jabs.
and distrust qualified professionals.
Fauci for example is an unelected filthy rich bureaucrat. He is in charge of grant money for projects and can destroy the careers of scientists with impunity. And has.

Yup, you still presented nothing.

Go get in line for your booster.

This week the US passed a grim milestone. One out of every 500 Americans has died from Covid. And if that wasn't bad enough, hospitals are still being overwhelmed by covid patients so much so that care is being rationed. There is not enough staff or facilities to care for them all, plus all the many non-covid cases. Infection rates, which had been coming down before the Delta variant became dominate, are now trending back up in most parts of the country. This is not looking like a good winter ahead.

Do your part to bring the numbers back down. Get vaccinated!
Debunked:

The '1 in 500 deaths from covid19' number being quoted everywhere is nonsense.

If you were to add up every death caused by any illness over time, take the flu which has anywhere from 30-100,000 deaths recorded each year, you could easily make the same argument.

You imply that this number is worrisome, but the US population has grown significantly throughout the "Pandemic" and the total covid19 death rate remains around .002%, which is the same percent estimated in January of 2020 when the illness was first discovered.

If you are under the age of 50, you have, at most, a 0.0001233333% chance of dying of Covid19; which is astronomically low.

When you compare the actual CDC statistics. About 576,000 of the total deaths are people over the age of 65. Which represents 0.00192% rate of total population in the US, Which, as even the worst demographic, is *STILL* astronomically low.

The US population has actually increased dramatically since 2020, with an estimated 3.1 million births.

These kind of statistics should matter, because they are the difference between something to panic over; and a pretty benign disease that is being projected 24/7 into homes causing untold psychological damage to millions.

Also...

$219 billion goes to treating heart disease in the US each year, and 655,000 Americans die every year from it (1 in every 4 deaths); yet there is no outrage or panic over the fact that corporations like McDonalds are definitely killing more people than Covid ever will.

Reality check: Greasy meats and sugary drinks will kill you much faster than covid19.

That would be incorrect, and that is not how covid deaths are counted.

It has grown slower percentage wise than at any time in at least 120 years.

I'm 73. This is of no comfort to me. Nor should it be any comfort to anyone under 50 who cares about someone over 50.

Using the term "astronomically" in lieu of any quantitative terms in order to imply a conclusion that is not objectively justified.

The US population has actually increased dramatically since 2020, with an estimated 3.1 million births.
There were also more than 3 million deaths, so the population did not grow by very much compared to previous years.

So you say, but they are, in fact, irrelevant statistics in deciding if covid is a serious threat.

That is a good point. If there is so many deaths from COVID then why is the population increasing? Also COVID was not the cause of death prior to late 2019. If COVID is such a killer then why is the overall population increasing? Oh (hair on fire panic) The emergency rooms are to capacity with covid patients and they are overflowing and on it goes......Pathetic. Covid could be flu or pneumonia or any number of things all marked down as covid because there are money incentives to mark it all down as covid. It is a scam.

I understand that you people abandoned conservatism for Trump cultism and conspiracy theories. I don’t need any more examples, but thanks anyway.

That is called a hand wave which means you got nothing. You also prefer top-down leadership for unaccountable unelected bureaucrats like Fauci who say jump and you say how high.

Do you think the Illuminati or the Reptilians are pushing the COVID hoax in order to establish a one world government?

You don't know that for certain. And he is getting better on his own, fairly quickly. But I am grateful that he was fully vaccinated back in April.
