There's something beautiful about the simplicity of lighting candles. No commercialism, no made-up myths of someone riding a sled, etc.

Just a commemoration of an actual historical event.

The article is from 1997. It was funny hearing about Clinton again.

Oh, how funny. It came up during a search because I had heard the Pope sent his blessings for Chanukah. I wonder if they are stilling doing a candlelighting in the garden.
