As Christians we are to pray for all people that they may come to know God, because
2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

For some, hatred and Republican partisanship comes before their religion.

I have seen so many right-wingers interpret the Bible and Christianity through the filter of right-wing political dogma. One of the many reasons it’s hard to take them seriously.
