Biden is a right-leaning centrist???

edit: I know US perspective is skewed to the right in general, and that what we perceive as ultraliberal really is more moderate than in other countries. But still, I don't understand how Biden could be considered Conservative about anything...
He would be in the centre of the Conservative Party in the UK. I would say that he is to the left of Margaret Thatcher, but to the right of Tony Blair, who is no raging socialist.

Can you give me an example of Biden's conservatism?

I'm interested to see how people percieve the political landscape, so here is a question for John James (and others):

If we were to divide the political landscape up into blocks, like this:
1) Extreme Left
2) Far Left
3) Left
4) Moderate Left
5) Centrist (Left leaning)
6) True Centrist
7) Centrist (Right leaning)
8) Moderate Right
9) Right
10) Far Right
11) Extreme Right

Where would you put Trump?
Where would you put Biden?

I dont know, personally.

Trump: Some say centrist right or moderate right because it seems his policies are mostly on the right and he wouldn't be right completely because he was a Democrat before running for President in 2016 and he said he agreed with some democrat stuff. He will not be pressured into anything but can be talked into it because his lack of knowledge in certain areas of the political arena by family members and he listens to the wrong advisors advice sometimes.

Biden: Some say moderate left. Some say because many people around him are far left and extreme left, he is far and extreme left at times trying to pacific their pressure on him and the pressure of some in his party/other groups like BLM.

Some say: Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib, Ayanna Pressley and many others democrats are EXTREME LEFT. (Not including Tulsi Gabbard but she is not a house representative anymore)

Some say some Republican(not including Ted Cruz, Josh Holly, Hawley, Tom Cotton, John Kennedy, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ben Sasse, Tim Scott) are EXTREME RIGHT

Some say: The far and extreme left and right are the problem. It appears to be more extreme and far right in the past. They are no longer a threat like they used to be but the memory of that threat continues in a manipulation tactic of the far and extreme left to make them seem like they are a common enemy to focus on. That's why anyone who is to the right of them are called alt/far/extreme right with some exceptions. Currently it appears to be more far and extreme left. They are the biggest threat this world has ever known. Because they are not as blant and short sided as the far and extreme right was. They have been working in the background and doing the long game. They are strategic and methodical. They have been working on change since after WWII and maybe they was raised to power as a consequence of WWII some say. They have been indoctrinating since then. Some good things came out of it. Equal rights and equal opportunity for blacks and women. But that was only a side effect of trying to bring all the minorities (including lgbtq) together to overthrow the majority (whites, conservatives and Christians) and become the majority. And use the minorities to gain power. That's why the far left and extreme left barely says anything when it comes to the destruction, stealing and murder by some in BLM and by Amtifa. And that's why KKK was started by some democrats around the reconstruction area to help them with getting and keeping power. The far/extreme left and far/extreme right are two sides of the same coin. They both have bad ideologies but the far/right is no longer as powerful. The far/extreme left is powerful and gaining power. They are going for power for the elites instead of the people and trying to get that from bringing in communism. With Trump they gained new allies or useful people such as the media, social media,, big tech, law enforcement, criminal prosectors, billionaires, Hollywood, entertainers, sports figures, many scientist, health organizations and others.

Personally I dont fully believe all this but I do see a threat more from the far left than than any other side. Not saying some other sides are not threats. I'm saying the far left as of now, is the greatest threat.

I'll withdraw the comment. I had been comparing him with Saunders and miscalculated. I have done a bit more research and see that he is actually more reformist than I thought. Particularly on healthcare and immigration. I revise my bid to centre left.

Mea culpa. I thought I knew but my assumptions were wrong.

It's all good. Your "accusation" was pretty consistent with others from across the sea, namely that whatever the US thinks of as liberal is more conservative than almost everywhere else. I was just curious to get an example of that WRT Biden.

Yeah, I'd place Biden center-left as well.

He's normal at least. In fact I was quite encouraged when I saw his policies. I thought he was just going to be a place holder to get rid of Trump, but he might actually make a difference.

Yup. Only time will tell, but so far, I like the approach his administration is taking on a range of issues.
