According to Jesus Christ's testimony as a credible expert witness in all matters
pertaining to the afterlife; most of the world's responsible souls haven't been
making it to safety when they cross over to the other side.

Luke 13:22-24 . . And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and
journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, master, are there few that
be saved? And he said unto them: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I
say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Matt 7:13-14 . . Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is
the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate
and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matt 22:14 . . For many are called, but few are chosen.

Webster's defines "many" as consisting of, or amounting to, a large but indefinite
number; while "few" is defined as consisting of, or amounting to, only a small
number; viz: relative to many then, few is the lesser. Bear with me while I flesh
this out.

According to the US Census Bureau: as of Feb 04, 2021 @ 12:42 pm New York
Time, the resident population in the United States was approximately 330,068,995
with a death rate of approximately one every 10 seconds; which translates to an
average of 8,640 American deaths of all ages, races, and genders during just one
24-hour calendar day. (These rates of death fluctuate between 10 and 12 per
second.)

According to 2009 US Census data; roughly 27.3% of America's daily deaths are
under the age of 19, which would indicate that approximately 6,281 of the current
daily death rate per 24 hours are adults.

Giving the "many" the benefit of the doubt by limiting their maximum percentage to
51%, would indicate a minimum of 3,203 American adults transferring to perdition
every day: which translates to roughly 133 per hour.

That's a very conservative estimate as Christ didn't really specify exact percentages
to represent the quantities of "few" and "many". But just think: by the time CBS
completes its half hour evening news report, a bare-bones minimum of 66
Americans become new arrivals in the fiery sector of the netherworld.

Using the ratio of 3,203 condemned souls per 330,068,995 population: computing
the number of condemned souls worldwide from a currently estimated global
population of 7,740,992,700 people, would suggest something like 75,119 new
arrivals in the fiery sector of the netherworld every 24 hours; which translates to
roughly 3,230 souls every sixty minutes on the clock.

(The 2019 Burning Man Festival attendance was roughly 80,000 people. If you can
find an aerial photo of the event online, you'll get a pretty good idea of what 75,119
looks like.)

That rate would fill the 51,800 seats of the new Yankee Stadium to capacity in
roughly 16 hours and 2 minutes. In other words: if the world's daily number of
condemned souls started filing into the stadium at 06:00 am this morning, then by
10:02 pm tonight, the stadium would be full to capacity.

Christmas and New Year are even worse. A study done of 26 years of death
certificates shows that coronary fatalities are, on average, 11.9% higher on those
days than any other days of the year; with non-heart deaths spiking to 12.2%
higher.

The netherworld never closes; no, not at all: it's open for business 24/7/365
nonstop and indifferent to global warming, Wall Street crashes, massive layoffs,
outsourcing, high school shootings, terrorism, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes,
storm surges, nuclear meltdowns, air, water, and soil pollution, a mission to Mars,
freeway pile-ups, brown-outs, threatened species, the price of oil, student debt,
GMO, trade deficits, protests, Federal debt, factory recalls, outsourcing,
overpopulation, desertification, genocides, revolutions, civil wars, acid rain, road
rage, oil spills, conscious decoupling, ISIS, LGBT marriage, blood diamonds,
fracking, twerking, and/or former US President Donald Trump's second
impeachment.

If standard Christianity's perception of Jesus Christ and the hereafter is correct;
then it's apparent that souls never stop cascading into the abyss in an endless
procession like the unbelievable millions of poultry broilers passing annually
through Tyson chicken-processing plants on their way to Wendy's, McDonalds,
Carl's Junior, Jack in the Box, Burger King, Chic-fil-A, KFC, A&W, Arby's, Dairy
Queen, Taco Bell, et al; and to supermarkets and restaurants all over the USA and
wherever else Tyson vends its meats. The slaughtering and the butchering never
stop.

Famed rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen passed away recently. He was a Roman
Catholic. I was one myself for 24 years, so I can say from personal experience, that
it's not easy to get into heaven via that version of Christianity.

Well; if perchance Eddie failed to make the cut (not saying he didn't; only saying "if
perchance") then he will never again be allowed to even so much as see a guitar let
alone pick one up with his hands.

Can you imagine a talented, pioneering musician like Eddie never again allowed to
do the one thing in life that he loved the most? I mean never again like as in
permanently.

Hell is bad enough for ordinary folk; it must be doubly miserable for creative
people: the poets, the painters, the sculptors, the architects, the fashion designers,
the authors, the choreographers, the gourmet cooks, the engineers, the scientific
geniuses, the explorers, et al.

FYI: According to Luke 16:19-31, people in the netherworld worry about their
surviving relatives. Well; Eddie's ex wife Valerie Bertinelli was raised a Roman
Catholic too. I've no doubt that if perchance Eddie is down there, he's wishing there
were some way to contact Vallerie and let her know where he is lest she follow him
right down there. For some folks; all they have to look forward to in the afterlife is
a sad reunion in fire and despair.

*Valerie loves to cook. Well; if perchance Eddie's ex ends up down there; she'll have
access to enough heat for cooking, but of course no ingredients to work with.

The Divine Comedy
by Dante Alighieri
Inferno: canto 3, v.1-9

Through me; the way to the eternal city.
Through me; the way to eternal sadness.
Through me; the way to lost people.

Justice moved my supreme maker:
I was shaped by divine power,
By highest wisdom, and by primal love.

Before me, nothing was created
That is not eternal: and eternally I endure.
Abandon all hope, you that enter here.

Dante's poetic epic is called a comedy because it has a happy ending as opposed to
a tragedy; at least for Dante anyway. The souls he and Virgil pass along the way
through the Inferno portion of Dante's odyssey will never, nor anon, have a happy
ending; hence the sign above the entrance to his netherworld: "Abandon all hope,
you that enter here."

Webster's defines "despair' as: to no longer have any hope or belief that a situation
will improve or change. Well; down in the Inferno section of Dante's concept,
despair is a way of life. It's likely not much different in the real inferno.

When people first get there, no doubt they start asking around to find out how long
they have to stay there. It must be very devastating to encounter folk who've been
languishing in the fiery region of the netherworld since practically the dawn of Man.

One of the hardest concepts to get across is the despair that people in Hell must
feel in knowing that their situation is a sealed fate with no hope of relief. Dante's
odyssey, though of course fiction, is useful for that purpose; especially when it's
accompanied by illustrations painted by Gustave Doré.

Jesus warned his listeners that they'd be better off facing eternity with their hands
and their feet amputated, and their eyes gouged out, then to end up in a region
called gheh'-en-nah in the Greek; a much worse place than Hades. So in my
estimation, Dante's descriptions, and Gustave's paintings, though disturbing
enough in themselves, aren't sufficient to impress just how devastating the ultimate
of fates really is.

Home By The Sea
Genesis, 1983
Phil Collins, Tony Banks, & Mike Rutherford

Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall,
stealing through the dark of the night.
Climbing through a window, stepping to the floor
checking to the left and the right.
Picking up the pieces, putting them away;
something doesn't feel quite right.

Help me someone, let me out of here.
Then out of the dark was suddenly heard:
Welcome to the Home by the Sea

Coming out the woodwork, through the open door,
pushing from above and below.
Shadows with no substance, in the shape of men;
round and down and sideways they go.
Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair
then as one they sigh and they moan:

Help us someone, let us out of here.
Living here so long undisturbed,
dreaming of the time we were free
so many years ago
before the time when we first heard:
Welcome to the Home by the Sea

Sit down . . Sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you

Images of sorrow, pictures of delight
things that go to make up a life.
Endless days of summer, longer nights of gloom
waiting for the morning light.
Scenes of unimportance, photos in a frame
things that go to make up a life.

Sit down . . Sit down
Cause you won't get away,
no; with us you will stay
for the rest of your days.
So sit down as we relive our lives in what we tell you.
Let us relive our lives in what we tell you.

The lyrics of that song are useful for depicting how one of the few thing that some
people have to do down in the netherworld to help pass the time is tell each other
about their previous lives. There is, of course, nothing to tell about their lives down
there since the colloquialism "get a life" is a non sequitur in that place. Nobody has
a life; nor any hope of getting one.

In Acts ch. 17 Paul presented Salvation to the Greeks on Mars Hill Amphitheater by describing it being a result of them "haply/possibly" coming to God thru faith in Jesus' Resurrection. He spoke nothing about earning it or being elected by God. He said nothing about sin, or hell. Some of the Greeks believed what he proclaimed, proving the authenticity of his Gospel.

Matt 22:14 . . For many are called, but few are chosen.

You think you have an airtight case -- but you do not. And I am going to explain to you in detail why
you do not have an airtight case and moreover why you are totally wrong too.

The issue you raise has many different aspects. First of all when the Lord Jesus said "only a few find it"
He was talking ONLY about that present 1st century generation -- and He was NOT being
historically predictive
of the future of His Christian Church. "I will build my Church, said Jesus, and the
Gates Of Hell will not prevail against it.

Now regarding that 2st century generation (that murdered the Lord Jesus} , , ,
Relatively few of them did "find it."
In fact, in 70 A.D. the Roman general Titus destroyed the Jewish nation, destroyed their temple, and killed
the Jews of that generation by the tens of thousands. The generation that Jesus spoke those words to, was
an evil unbelieving murderous generation, who ended up murdering the innocent Son Of God. They were
the generation that cried out Crucify Him, Crucify Him and "We have no king but Caesar." So? So relatively
few them did "find it." Indeed they did not "find it."

The world today has over 2.3 billion Christians. There is no possible way for you to apply
the concept of "few" to over 2.3 billion Christians.

The issue you raise can be considered like this:
Christians will become as numerous as the stars in the sky?

Will Christians become as numerous as the stars in the sky
and as numerous as the grains of sand on the seashore? Yes!
(See Hebrews 11:11-12)

Do these three Bible verses teach that Christians are now,
and will be in the future, few in numbers? No!

(A) Luke 12:32's "little flock"
(B) Matthew 7:14's "only a few find it"
(C) Matthew 22:14's "many are invited, but few are chosen"

No they do not teach that. Why not?

Because there are well over 2,300,000,000 Christians in the world
.and 2.3 billion Christians cannot be a "little flock" or only a "few".

You can not apply "only a few find it" to over 2.300,000,000
Christians.

There are over 16,000,000 Southern Baptist in the United States.
Sixteen million Christians cannot be a "little flock" or a "few."

There are over 1300 Protestant mega-churches in the United States
with weekly attendance over 2000. That many Christians cannot
be a "little flock" or just a "few."

There are over 3000 Catholic churches in the world with a weekly attendance
of over 2000. This many Christians cannot be just a "few" or a "little flock."

Anticipated objection:

"Those people up there are not true Christians."___John Small Church

My reply to John Small Church:

It is absolutely impossible for you to know for certain that they are not
true Christians. You do not have the power or the authority to judge
the hearts of other people. That's just a fact and its an absolute fact.
Only God has the power and the authority to judge the hearts of people
and to know if they are, or are not, true Christians.

I say all this, John Small Church, in the spirit of love and kindness.
Remember this: You, like all Christians, are imperfect. You are not sinless.

Therefore any one of those 2.3 billion Christians could look at the
imperfections in your life and they could say about you, what you
just said about them, namely that you are not a true Christian.
So the conversation can end up like this:

Bob: I am a true Christian, but you Tom, are not a true Christian.
Tom: No Bob, I am a true Christian, but you are not a true Christian.
Bob: No Tom, you do not meet my standards for being a true Christian.
Tom: No Bob, you do not meet my standards for being a true Christian

I am going to present to you these 5 biblical passages regarding the
HUGE-ENORMOUS numbers of the Christian Church.

(1) Genesis 22:15-18 with
(2) Galatians 3:6-9 with
(3) Romans 4:16-17 with
(4) Hebrews 11:11-12 with
(5) Revelation 7:9-10

Meanwhile this thought:

"As of the year 2015, Christianity has more than 2.3 billion adherents,
out of about 7.5 billion people. The faith represents one-third of the
world's population and is the largest religion in the world, with the three
largest groups being the Catholic Church, Protestantism, and
the Eastern Orthodox Church."__wiki

______

Clearly, Christianity is not now a "little flock" and it is impossible to interpret
the Bible as teaching that the Christian Church is always going to be a "little
flock." When was Christianity a "little flock"? Answer: It was a "little flock"
at the time the Lord Jesus spoke the words of Luke 12:32. At that time
there was probably less than 300 Christians in the entire world of the
1st century. The Christian Church is not a "little flock" now and
will never again be a "little flock."

So?

So clearly these verses . .

(A) Luke 12:32's "little flock"
(B) Matthew 7:14's "only a few find it"
(C) Matthew 22:14's "many are invited, but few are chosen" . . .

. . .are NOT predictive of the future of the numerical size of the Christian Church.

Genesis 22:15-18

"The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time
and said, "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have
done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely
bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the
sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take
possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring
all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me."

Note the particulars:

(1) "I will make your (Abraham) descendants as numerous as the
stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore"

(2) "through your offspring all the nations on earth will be blessed."

That up there can not be "only a few find it."

Genesis 22:15-18

God said to Abraham, "indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly
multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which
is on the seashore . . . and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall
be blessed."

Note the particulars in Genesis 22:15-18

(1) stars

(2) grains of sand on the seashore

(3) all nations of the earth shall be blessed through Abraham's
descendants. In Romans and Galatians and Hebrews the New
Testament teaches that the Christian Church is the spiritual
children of Abraham. More about that later.

Meanwhile:

How many stars are there in the universe? If you google that
question, you'll get something like this:

"Multiplying the number of galaxies, which is about 2 trillion,
by the 100 million stars in a galaxy suggests there could be
about 10 raised to the 20th power stars in the universe."

That would be trillions and trillions of stars.

That up there can not be "only a few find it."

Continued . . .

Consider these 5 biblical passages regarding the present and
coming HUGE-ENORMOUS numbers of the Christian Church.

(1) Genesis 22:15-18 with
(2) Galatians 3:6-9 with
(3) Romans 4:16-17 with
(4) Hebrews 11:11-12 with
(5) Revelation 7:9-10

Start quote.
"So also Abraham "believed God, and it was credited to him as
righteousness." Understand, then, that those who have faith
are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify
the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to
Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you." So those
who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man
of faith. Galatians 3:6-9
End quote.

In Galatians 3:6-9 Paul teaches that those who have faith are the
children of Abraham. (The children of Abraham are therefore the
Christian Church.)

In Genesis 22:15-18 God said to Abraham that he would make his
descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as numerous
as the sand on the seashore. (millions)

So?

So Genesis 22:15-18 clearly CONNECTS with Galatians 3:6-9

So?

So the numbers of the Christian Church (the children of Abraham) will be
as numerous as the numbers of stars in the sky and as numerous as
the sand on the seashore.(millions)

So?

So the following 3 verses cannot be applied to the numerical FUTURE of
the entire Christian Church . . .

A) Luke 12:32's "little flock"
(B) Matthew 7:14's "only a few find it"
(C) Matthew 22:14's "many are invited, but few are chosen"

Those verses up there (A), (B), (C) CANNOT be given a
historically PREDICTIVE interpretation.

They MUST be interpreted ONLY as describing the numerical conditions
of the first century in which they were written.

If you interpret them to refer to the FUTURE numbers of the Christian
Church then you have created a contradiction. between
Genesis 22:15-18 and Galatians 3:6-9 (and other Bible verses too)

Again the ONLY proposition of my Opening Post and follow-up posts
is that the numerical size of the Christian Church is NOT now, and
never again will be, a "little flock" or "few" in number.

So?

So your Opening Post is incorrect and your conclusions are wrong.

Continued . . .

Now add Revelation 7:9-10 which says that there is a great multitude
of the saved from every nation, tribe, people and language and they
are so numerous that no one can count them.

"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one
could count from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing
before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white
robes . . .and they cried out . . . Salvation belongs to our God who sits
on the throne and to the Lamb." Revelation 7:9-10

So?

So these verses . . .

(A) Luke 12:32's "little flock"
(B) Matthew 7:14's "only a few find it"
(C) Matthew 22:14's "many are invited, but few are chosen"

. . CANNOT be given a historically PREDICTIVE interpretation.
They ONLY describe the small numbers of Christians who lived
in the first century at the beginning of the public ministry of the
Lord Jesus.

Your interpretation and application of "only a few find it" is totally
incorrect.

JAG

``

Continued . . .

Now consider Hebrews 11:11-12 and Romans 4: 16-17

Hebrews 11:11-12 says that from Abraham came descendants as
numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on
the seashore. This is a NEW TESTAMENT verse that says clearly
that the Christian Church is NOT going to remain a "little flock."
or just a "few".

Abraham's descendants have been clearly identified as the Christian
Church in the verses up-thread.

Then add Romans 4: 16-17 that teaches that "Abraham's offspring"
is the Christian Church and says clearly that "He (Abraham) is the
father of us all."

So?

So there is no POSSIBLE way to interpret . . .

(A) Luke 12:32's "little flock"
(B) Matthew 7:14's "only a few find it"
(C) Matthew 22:14's "many are invited, but few are chosen"

. . .as being historically PREDICTIVE of the FUTURE numbers
of the Christian Church.

Conclusion:

The final numbers of the Christian Church will be as numerous as the stars
in the sky and the sand on the seashore.

The Christian Church is NOT now and will NEVER again be just a "few"
or a "little flock."

This ought to cheer the hearts and minds of all we Christians.

Moreover, the Lord Jesus deserves a HUGE growing Christian Church in the
world and He is going to have that.

Christendom is right now at 2.3 billion worldwide and we are growing
like wildfire in the Global South, in places like Africa.

Also there is a HUGE growing underground Christian Church in
China. House Church.

And there is an HUGE-ENORMOUS Christian Church in South Korea.

So?

So your Opening Post and your conclusions in your follow up posts are
incorrect.

"I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome
it" ___The Lord Jesus in Matthew 16:18 NIV

Note the phrase "I will BUILD my church" Does not this phrase and
this verse clearly suggest that the numerical size of His church will
not forever be a "little flock" and only a "few"? My view is that the
Lord Jesus could not successfully BUILD His church if it forever
remained a "little flock" and only a "few" in numbers?

_______

Then consider the Lord Jesus's Great Commission at the end of
Matthew's gospel chapter 28.

Start quote.
"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where
Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him;
but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority
in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
end of the age." Matthew 28:16-20
End quote.

Note the particulars:

(1) The Lord Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples of ALL
the nations, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

(2) The Lord Jesus explained that they were to do this because He
NOW had been given all authority in both Heaven and on Earth.

(3) This "all authority" that the Lord Jesus NOW has both in Heaven
and on Earth is the reason why His disciples would be successful in
making disciples of ALL the nations. It is Jesus' power that empowers
the certain success of His Great Commission to His Christian Church.

So?

So Matthew 28:16-20 clearly teaches that the Christian Church will
not forever remain a "little flock" and only a "few" in numbers?

My view is that it would be impossible for the disciples of the Lord
Jesus to successfully make disciples of ALL nations teaching them to
obey the commands of the Lord Jesus --- and at the same time the
Christian Church remain only a "little flock" and only be a "few" in
numbers?

So?

I conclude that the proposition "The Christian Church is NOT now and
will NEVER again be just a "few" or a "little flock{" --has been established
as true.

And your Opening Post and your conclusions in your follow up posts are
incorrect. When Jesus said "only a few find it" He was ONLY talking about
that 1st century unbelieving murderous generation --Jesus was not making
a historically predictive statement about the future of His Christian Church
and NOT making a historically predictive statement about the coming certain
victorious destination of His John 3:16-Human-Race-Love-Project-Planet-Earth.

Before human history ends, the vast majority of the earth's inhabitants will be
Christianized, The Bible is clear that the coming gradual incremental Christianization
of the world will take place in human history.

Miscellaneous Points:

Thank you.

Your conclusions rest on your personal interpretation and application
of Luke 13:22-24, and Matthew 7:13-14, and Matthew 22:14.

Your interpretation and application of those passages has been demonstrated,
in my posts up-thread, to be incorrect.

Your Opening Post and your follow up posts reads like something the atheist
and Christianity-hater Mark Twain would have written in his bitter hate-filled book
titled "Letters From The Earth" -- in which Twain mocked and ridiculed the God
of the Bible with bitter sarcasm based on his incorrect false assumptions about God
and about the Bible.

If you have never read Mark Twain's "Letters from The Earth" you would LOVE it.
Trust me. If you have never read it --its exactly what you're looking for. By the way,
God will always give a man what he is determined to have. Then after that man gets
what he demanded, that man often turns and blames God for giving him what he
demanded -- and mocks and ridicules God -- often with veiled sarcasm and veiled
hostility and veiled blame, like you are doing in your Opening Post and in your follow
up posts in this thread.

Selected quotations from Letters From The Earth

Start quote:

The Creator sat upon the throne, thinking. Behind him stretched the illimitable continent of heaven, steeped in a glory of light and color; before him rose the black night of Space, like a wall. His mighty bulk towered rugged and mountain-like into the zenith, and His divine head blazed there like a distant sun. At His feet stood three colossal figures, diminished to extinction, almost, by contrast—archangels—their heads level with His ankle-bone.
In time, the Deity perceived that death was a mistake; a mistake, in that it was insufficient; insufficient, for the reason that while it was an admirable agent for the inflicting of misery upon the survivor, it allowed the dead person himself to escape from all further persecution in the blessed refuge of the grave. This was not satisfactory. A way must be conceived to pursue the dead beyond the tomb.
Man is a marvelous curiosity. When he is at his very, very best he is a sort of low grade nickel-plated angel; at his worst he is unspeakable, unimaginable; and first and last and all the time he is a sarcasm.
He took a pride in man; man was his finest invention; man was his pet, after the housefly....
(On the Bible) It is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies. End quote Letters from the Earth - Wikipedia

Your Opening Post and your follow up posts will leave the impression in the minds of
serious readers that the God of the Bible and the Lord Jesus and Christianity has created
human beings primarily for the purpose of burning the majority of them in Hell fire for all
eternity. You do not come out bold and say that God and His Son Jesus are moral monsters,
but your Opening Post and your follow up post are designed and written to get the reader
to conclude that the God of the Bile and His Son are indeed moral monsters -- while craftily
leaving yourself with plausible deniability.

By the way, the New Testament presents God as one who loves the world, not as one who
wants to damn and condemn the world --- "for God so loved the world that He gave His
one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"
, , ,"for God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world
might be saved through Him" John chapter 3

And there is such a thing as 11th hour repentance. And "God is love" and God is Merciful
and God is Gracious -- and God has access to every human heart 24/7/365and you do not
know what goes on between God and His creatures in the middle of the night when the soul
is hard-pressed and calls out to God for His love, His Mercy, and His Grace.

The Cross says God loves us

The Cross tells us what kind of Person God is -- God is the kind of Person that will
go straight into the Pain out of love for others.

God brings good out of unspeakable tragedies, for example God brought salvation
and eternal life out of the Pain of the Cross -- "for God so loved the world that He gave
His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

God went straight into the Pain of the Cross for us. God is courageous.

Courageous-Love.

The Cross --- God is the kind of Person that leads from the front where the Pain is.

Ps 146:3-4 . . Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there
is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his
thoughts perish.

Some people honestly believe the passage above teaches that people cease to exist
when they pass away; but were their belief true, then Christ would've ceased to
exist when he passed away on the cross and in order to restore the Lord's body
back to life, it would've necessary to create him back to existence. No; I'm pretty
sure it's saying something very different. It's not talking about consciousness.
Here's a much better way to say it.

"When their breathing stops, they return to the earth, and in a moment all their
plans come to an end."

Consider all those people who perished in the World Trade Center, in the Japan and
Indonesia tsunamis, and the Haiti earthquake. None of them woke that day
planning on it being their last on earth. No, on the contrary; they had people to
see, places to go, and things to do: but before the day ended; whatever was on
their minds lost its importance-- their priorities went right out the window and
became no more significant than green cheese on the moon.

All their plans, their dreams, their schedules, their appointments, their schemes,
their problems, their aspirations, and their loves went right down the tubes as they
were suddenly confronted with a whole new reality to cope with.

While preparing for a new world tour, Michael Jackson died in his sleep. As a result;
his tour wrapped on the spot.

When my eldest nephew was paroled from prison; he quit drinking, and began
going to college with the goal towards becoming a counselor. For 2½ years all went
well. His parole officer was happy, and my nephew was on track and getting good
grades. His future looked assured. And then on the morning of Sept 25, 2015, he
dropped dead to the floor of natural causes. As a result; his college education, and
his hope to become a counselor, dropped dead to the floor right with him.

Saturday, June 27, 2010, a 6-month-old baby girl was killed and her mother
seriously injured when the pair were struck by a falling tree branch in New York
City's Central Park Zoo. The girl's father was taking their picture near the sea lion
exhibit when a branch above them suddenly snapped off and fell.

Tuesday, July 3, 2007; nineteen year-old Ramiro Gonzalez was returning home to
Nyssa Oregon from a week-end honeymoon in northern California with his bride
Idalia asleep in the back seat when their 1997 Pontiac Grand Am hit a cow twenty
miles east of Burns. The Pontiac went off the road, through a fence, and burst into
flames. Idalia escaped with only minor injuries, but Ramiro died at the Ste. Charles
Medical Center in Bend the very next day.

Ramiro and his bride didn't get to live in a home of their own for even one single
minute of their marriage-- never had a baby, never joined the PTA, never saved for
college, never went to ballet lessons, nor to soccer or little league, never went on
family picnics, never took home movies and photos at Christmas, Easter, or
birthdays, never went to the beach and built sand castles --no, their entire future,
and all their dreams of family life, were shattered in an instant by a lame-brained
bovine; and Ramiro wasn't even 20 years old yet. He could've lived another fifty
years.

March 20, 2008; fifty-seven year old Judy Kay Zagorski, of Pigeon, Michigan, was
sitting in the front seat of her father's boat going 25 knots on the Atlantic Ocean
side of Vaca Key in Florida, when a Spotted Eagle Ray, with a wingspan of 5 to 6
feet; leaped up out of the water-- for who knows what reason --and collided with
Zagorski, knocking her backwards onto the deck of the boat. She died from the
impact. Judy's sister, standing next to her, wasn't injured.

On a November morning in 1998, Alan Pakula climbed into his Volvo station wagon
and began the 100-mile drive from Manhattan to his Long Island house. The
acclaimed movie director of Sophie's Choice, All The President's Men, and The
Pelican Brief, had made that trip countless times with no incident.

As the 70 year-old Pakula neared exit 49 on the Long Island Expressway just before
noon, the tires of a vehicle ahead of him flipped a 7-foot piece of steel rod into the
air. Within seconds, the rod shot through Pakula's windshield, smashing into his
forehead, killing him almost instantly.

Death often comes when people least expect it. As a rule, they don't usually get up
in the morning planning it to be their last day on earth. The 169,752 killed, and
127,294 listed as missing in more than eleven countries by the tsunami of 2004,
were taken by surprise, and given no warning it was to be their last day on earth.

The 2,829 people who perished in a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on
September 11, 2001, and the 189 who died in the Pentagon, didn't go in to work
expecting their lives to end before lunch that day. No, people's lives often end while
they still have obligations and commitments, aspirations, things to do, places to go,
and people to see; when a car accident, train wreck, act of nature, plane crash,
crime, heart attack, or stroke puts an abrupt end to every plan they ever made.

Tuesday, Jan 12, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake struck Port au Prince Haiti right out of the
blue subsequently causing the loss of more than 200,000 lives. A similar act of
nature on March 11, 2011, left 25,000 dead and/or missing in Japan.

Okeechobee woman Dawn Johnston, 38, was killed Wednesday June 30, 2010 after
part of a portable toilet crashed through her car's windshield. Dawn was driving
south on SR 15 shortly after 11 a.m. when two portable toilets fell from the trailer
of a pickup truck traveling north,. The portable toilets shattered when they hit the
road, and a piece of one of them crashed through the woman's windshield, striking
her. Johnston's car then veered off the road and collided with a tree.

A rain-saturated hillside above the Stillaguamish River on the outskirts of the rural
town of Oso in the State of Washington gave way March 22, 2014 leaving behind a
current death toll of 41 souls. The landslide happened to suddenly and so rapidly
that nobody saw it coming and/or had the slightest chance of getting out of the
way. Listed among the dead and missing was a four-month old infant.

Freak incidents like those listed above can happen to anybody in the form of a stray
bullet from a drive-by, lightening strike, gas explosion, choking on a piece of meat,
electrocution, earthquake, a drunk driver, a fall in the bath tub; bricks dropped
from an overpass, a school shooting, or any number of out-of-the-blue surprises.

Because of the uncertainty of tomorrow, people need to start thinking about the
afterlife today, while they have the chance; rather than risk being caught off guard
by sudden death when there will be no time to think; and they find themselves
suddenly thrust into the unseen world unprepared.

Ecc 9:12 . . No man knows when his hour will come: as fish are caught in a cruel
net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall
unexpectedly upon them.

On September 11, 2001 terrorists flew planes into the twin towers
of the World Trade Center, brought both towers to the ground, killed
2,977 people, and caused over 25,000 injuries, with $10 billion in
infrastructure damage. 343 firefighters were killed, and 72 police officers.

In the midst of all that desperation and despair the workers found a Cross amidst
the wreckage. I believe the Cross was put there by the Sovereign God as a
symbol demonstrating that Hope shines in the midst of great sorrow.

images

We have all seen pictures of the Cross draped with Jesus' grave cloth -- the grave
cloth symbolizing His Resurrection {the empty tomb}. Note the "grave cloth" that is
draped on the Cross they found in the wreckage of 9/11. It is a piece of white metal.

The Cross found in the midst of the destruction and wreckage of the two towers of
the World Trade Center -- Sept 11, 2001 -- proclaims in a strong clear voice that God
is right there in the middle of His John 3:16-Human-Race-Love-Project no matter how
severe the storms and fires we go through. He is right there with us and He will never
leave us or forsake us, and He will bring good out of the evil that men do, overcoming
the evil with good, and He will bring Hope to men and LOVE through the Cross. No
power in the Universe can defeat and stop the power of the Cross of the Lord Jesus to
bring Victory, Love, and Hope to the human race. The Cross found in the wreckage of
the World Trade Center symbolizes this Hope.

Here below is a pic of the Cross Monument at Ground Zero in Mew York City.

The Sovereign God is right there in the midst of our worst suffering,
working to bring good out of our troubles. And never forget The Cross.
The Cross tells us that God is the kind of Person that has Courageous-Love.
God is the kind of Person that leads from the front where the Pain is.

Some people honestly believe the passage above teaches that people cease to exist
