How do athiests know if something is true or not?

It's any set of beliefs that revolve around and include the worship of or devotion to a deity.
Religion is a servant - slave relationship to a master. One that tells the slave what to do. Nothing transformational takes place other than conformity to the masters rules and regulations.

No, that is not the definition of "religion".

A religion is a set of beliefs/doctrines that revolve around the worship of and devotion to a deity/deities.

Religion is consists of man made rules and regulations. Prescribed things that one needs to do in order to please the gods, or God.

The definition you used is not the thinking of someone who is not religious. Christianity may have some guidelines. But its about an ever growing spiritual relationship one has with God. Religion hopes to form a relationship. Christianity throws one right into a mystery of needing to learn knowledge as to become aware of what the relationship has gotten one into...

Because of needing to obtain knowledge to understand the relationship, when so much bad teaching exists like we see today, it will make those Christians who crave the "junk food" teachings to appear to be irrational and unstable.

Religious people have a natural affinity for some religion. The people who hated Jesus were highly religious.

Religion is the enemy of God. With one exception. The good works of looking after widows and orphans.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans
and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

All other religion is not from God... no matter how many Bible verses they may quote (without understanding what it is they are quoting)..

Nope. Christianity is a RELIGION, plain and simple. You don't get to make up a special definition in regard to Christian. Christianity is loaded with rules and regulations... just like every other religion.

Wrong again. You keep trying to make up your own definition, despite being repeatedly presented with the actual definition. What you state is NOT the definition of religion.

Christiantiy is and has been from its inception a religion.

Just stating the facts.
Facts don't care about your feelings or spin.
Godlessness does not care when it wants to impose what it says are the facts...

You just want to be as a god to control the facts in your little world... Its why we see cancel culture. Its why we must have Hell. For, its the final lesson for those who would make life hell if they had the power to do so.

Good day, your highness. Just stating the facts.

Set of beliefs invented by men as the alleged means to win the approbation of God.

Christianity is not about winning God approval. It having it, and not being able to lose it. Its about the relationship established by God in the Spirit. A relationship that requires knowledge to be able to understand what this relationship entails. Religion promises the hope of gods /God's approval. Christianity is starting off at salvation with an approval that can not be lost.

Rather, it is you who wants to disregard reality/facts and instead promote mythology and your religious ideology in place of facts.

Christianity is a RELIGION. It is an invention of men. It is all about winning your deity's approval (by believing in the religion and following its rules).

What is your standard for facts, sir?

That is a dumb thing to say. Bigotry blinds you. I already told you that some men have hijacked Christianity and turned it into a religion. What they offer is not Christianity, but call it Christianity. Just like socialists claim patriotism.

Well... If you want to be stupid? Bigotry blinds you.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid." Proverbs 12:1
grace and peace.......

Facts: that which can be objectively demonstrated to correspond to reality.

Nope. You are playing semantics games. Christianity is a religion. As other posters have pointed out, you don't get to just make up definitions to words in order to suite your whims.
Oh, and one can be both a socialist AND a patriot at the same time. The two aren't exclusive. You are just displaying that you don't understand the meanings of other words as well.

Who's reality?

Can quantum physics be demonstrated to some primitive people in a jungle?

God's thinking makes you comparatively into some primitive mind that can not grasp beyond the small world of self importance you live in.

There is only one reality.

Just because a group of people lack knowledge of and access to things which can be OBJECTIVELY DEMONSTRATED AND DETERMINED doesn't mean I should put stock in things that are no more than BELIEFS. Things that have no objective, verifiable evidence to back them up.

In other words, just because jungle people don't know or understand about quantum physics doesn't mean I should believe in purple unicorns if someone tells me they are real.

Scenario.... Its 500 years ago.

Someone involved with time travel comes from the future tells the town folk about radio waves.

They demand he demonstrate its true or be burned at the stake.

It could not be objectively demonstrated as they demanded....

Atheists are trapped way back in time.

Therefore.. Its impossible to demonstrate what you demand on your terms.

God transcends time and space. He is always being in the past, present, and future simultaneously.

On the other hand..

One atheist is like a speck of dust made invisible in the universe, demanding that God reveal Himself to him before he will believe (on his own terms)..

Everyone who has come to grips with faith leaves you looking like a jack ass. All the while, you think you are making them look like jackasses.

Irony never rusts....
