If it's that ironic, then maybe it isn't true. Maybe you've misunderstood God's influence in the world.Kinda ironically hilarious.

[19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
I thought you said "Isaiah 14"?Revelation, too
[16] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Biblical scholars say yes!?I say yes... Biblical scholars say yes.
You spoke of the bible as..."If it's full of apparently contradictory things,"According to fundy Christians, the Bible is perfect for reproof and converting, and is proof of Jesus. If it's full of apparently contradictory things, then it's not written well, unless its God's intent to confuse people to truth, and lose all his converts, to Islam. However, what would I know. Maybe he just inserted hell in for a laugh, to make us take it seriously, but there's really no hell.
Really? You wanna go there? You might as well throw in the phonebook. So, gnostic scipture? So, Quran? Book of Mormon?
Maybe you can provide a rational reason why people who have wealth find it difficult to enter the kingdom? If it's that ironic, then maybe it isn't true. Maybe you've misunderstood God's influence in the world.
No, the first light was the glory of God. Why would the sun shine before the light of God?1. Sun created on 4th day. Surely it would have been better to have it created on the first day.
Not sure what "concept" I missed. Probably true though.Likely true, but it's not the focus of the concept, I think you know that.
He sure does react strongly to it.It doesn't appear to me that God is afraid of or cannot account for sin.
Mixed bag. If you have a propensity for theism it usually survives success and the lottery. But when a man becomes rich, he seems to settle into having little need of God, he can get along just fine in life without Him, amirite?
So a man is given gifts from God like life, skills, smarts. Even success and money.
And then the man decides he doesn't need God.
Kinda ironically hilarious.
You don't have to agree with the Lord on the issues of the rich, no. My thinking is He knows better than you.Not sure what "concept" I missed. Probably true though.

It depends on what you mean by 'authentic', but it's not generally held to be written by the Peter. Is 2 Peter authentic? Sounds like one of those handy catch-all statements like all "scripture" is inspired, without stating which bits they could be. It allows you to append it to any group of fake books. Paul didn't know that John/Matthew/Revelation would be in the cannon, for example. I presume he would be egotistical enough to think his own epistles were scripture, though.
No, that's fine... We'll go with it.You don't have to agree with the Lord on the issues of the rich, no. My thinking is He knows better than you.
The concept is the post you responded to, the irony of the rich receiving all they have from the Lord, and turning around and not needing the Lord once their new barns are built.
You know, like Jesus related to us, 'you fool, your very life will be required of you tonight'*, to paraphrase.
*If you don't recognize the reference, I can help.
Hmm....Us, really. The Bible is supposed to convince us of stuff. If it gets everything wrong (in our eyes) then it's not going to be accepted.
This is what I read in Genesis 1:2-8. God parted the waters and made blue sky from water, with an ethereal "good" backlight. This ethereal backlight then got divided into two hemispheres or something, and rotated around the earth for the first 3 days. The writer apparently did not understand atmospheric scattering of blue light. This confused everyone.

If the Sun Is Created on Day 4, What Is the Light on Day 1? - TheTorah.com
If the sun is created on day four, what is the light on day one? Commentators have struggled with this question for centuries, but ancient cosmology offers a compelling solution. | Dr. Rabbi Zev Farberwww.thetorah.com
Yep. Another person who confirms the veracity of the bible. The canon was chosen by men in the 2nd - 5th centuries. This is long after the era of plenary inspiration and during a time when superstitions competing religious/mythical dogmas were fighting for the weak minds of the populace. The people that chose what stays and what does not were not under God's inspiration as the writers were claimed to be. But hey, they weren't fools of their day, the Apocrypha was left out - but they are fools of the standards of this day.
That makes you a fool.
No ominpotent being needs anything.God created the cosmos and then set about to start working on earth. He needed
Thus, he made his own light. No ominpotent being needs anything.
Now that's exactly what every cult claims now isn't it... that the outside world will condemn them.Yep. Another person who confirms the veracity of the bible.
Man! You guys are doing this exactly the way YHVH says you would!
Congratulations! You're batting 1000!
consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
Keep it up nickel.
Yep.If you were placed in a room with the following:
And you were told to separate all the bills into two piles:
- pile of one dollar bills
- pile of two dollar bills
- pile of three dollar bills
- pile of four dollar bills
- pile of five dollar bills
- pile of six dollar bills
- pile of seven dollar bills
- pile of eight dollar bills
- pile of nine dollar bills
- pile of ten dollar bills
Could you do it?
- legal tender
- non-legal tender
Then you're more than welcome to destroy yourself. Now that's exactly what every cult claims now isn't it... that the outside world will condemn them.
Bingo! good job!Yep.
The Bank of Canada has never issued a 3, or 4, or 6, or 7, or 8, or 9, dollar bill.
So right away, these bills are NOT legal tender
Did he need it?Thus, he made his own light.
