World records! Thanks for the history. For those who like to know π to a great number of decimal places, you should know that the record for calculating π as far as number of digits of accuracy is concerned is currently held by Timothy Mullican. It took eight months of computer time and he finished on 29 January 2020. The number of digits in the calculation: 50,000,000,000,000 (50 trillion digits!). The previous record was held by Emma Haruka Iwao who achieved 31.4 trillion digits in 2019. However she achieved her result running a computer for only one day. Apparently the effort required to go from 31.4 trillion to 50 trillion digits is huge!
