Anyway, I get most of my news from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, not TV news stations, though I watch the latter sometimes for the weather and local news.

The whole Ivermectin “debate” is based on the idea that all official medical institutions are participating in some international conspiracy to lie to us about the global pandemic.

Right-wingers will believe any “source,” no matter how obviously crazy, rather than accept the recommendations of the actual experts.

FDA:
“The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals. Ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Currently available data do not show ivermectin is effective against COVID-19.”

CDC:
“Be aware that currently, ivermectin has not been proven as a way to prevent or treat COVID-19.”

A quick Google search will show how studies promoting ivermectin have been withdrawn as bogus.

The best we can say is the jury is still out.

The simple fact is we have a safe, effective, free, and convenient vaccine.

Right-wingers will buy into anything…anything, no matter how nutty or dangerous, rather than follow the advice of medical experts.
