I'm wondering if any of you watched this movie. And if so what do you think?

I believe this is teaching these children wrong doctrine. There they are babbling away and thinking this is prayer. They don't have a translator as the Bible says you should in groups.

I notice that when Becky Fischer "speaks in tongues" she is simply repeating the same thing over and over. This is evidence of a psychological rehearsal and retention of an intentional nature. If it were a manifestation of the Spirit there would be no continuous repetition as we see here. Because NO languages have that pattern of repetition. Only a repeated mantra would show this pattern of repetition. This same repetition can be seen in some of these children. They think they are supposed to do this. This is nothing spiritual. It makes me feel sick, and actually speaks to my soul as a deceptive and devilish warping of the real gift of tongues.

I'm curious if this is common for all Pentecostals or do they see this as extreme as well?

So, it seems clear to me that none of you have enough belief and faith in this speaking in tongues and teaching children such things that you will defend it. Not one Pentecostal will touch this? Is it because of Ted Haggard?

I have not seen the movie you are talking about, but when I hear of people coaxing someone on how to speak in tongues a red flag immediately arises. On the day of Pentecost it plainly states that they began to speak in tongues, "as the Spirit gave them the utterance." From this it is clear that speaking in tongues is the work of the Holy Spirit which is independent of man.

Everyone who is of God knows that the message in tongues is = it takes faith to do it. That is the message noting more or anything less.

Sadly people has made a religion from it abusing the intent all together. And speaking in tongues is not the evidence of you having the Holy Ghost, it is an exercise in faith. And everyone who is of God and has spoke in tongues understand that same message of -- it takes faith to do it. And in many cases it is the first evidence of faith at work in a whole lot of people. And faith will produce anything you are determined to produce, and a simple exercise in faith is speaking in tongues.
