Just a reminder of how barbaric the insurrection on Jan 6th really was.

Let's compare. BLM = 250 + peaceful protest with over 2 billion dollars in damages. The Capitall some broken windows and doors, not one painting not one statue was defiled or damaged, no graffiti, no burning looting or murdering. And if we're going to use film from that day's events to argue that there were deplrables, then show all the film, not just what someone cherry pics. If this was BLM today Congress would be holding session under a FEMA tent. And they would have called it a peaceful protest.
Well there's one analogous comparison. BLM did $2 billion worth of damage and Nancy Pelosi has given $2 billion to the capital police so that they can become an American Gestapo with surveillance operations in every city in the United States. Like being spied on, do you want to criminalize politics, if so you're gonna love what's coming next.

All of the above. Haven't you read the court documents yet? The FBI was orchestrating this fiasco. The ring leaders have yet to even be indicted because they're paid FBI informants. Again, this is in the court documents.
Do you have a link to these court documents? I wonder if these court documents, also, verify in some way your claim about the FBI, or do these court documents merely contain someone claiming this about the FBI? People say lots of things in courts that may or may not be verified.
No one needs a crystal ball. They're all in on the same narrative. They're all reading from the same script regardless of what happens.
Evidence? Or does this depend on the court documents you mentioned above?
What I'm saying is what H.L. Mencken famously said which is that “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.”
Still not clear. Do you support democratic elections under a rule of law or not?

Not when the President is a puppet. Trump couldn't get anyone into his cabinet that wasn't approved by the swamp.
These appointments were not approved by the Senate:
Chris Miller, Sec of Defense, Nov. 9 2020
Chad Wolf, Sec. of Homeland Security, Nov. 13, 2019

Do you advocate for doing away with Senate advise and consent for Cabinet appointments?

He's a moron, but at least he could remember where he was and what he was doing. The point here is that anyone can be President of the US even a vegetable. Prop up Mr. Potato Head as President and no one will ever notice the difference because it's a blatant joke. The whole world is laughing themselves silly at this charade.
Do you have any evidence for your idea that the whole world is laughing at us because of the (current?) POTUS?
This is the type of President that is installed to watch over the destruction of a country.
Evidence?

Actually, maybe I've been mis-understanding you. Maybe all these things that you claim and for which I ask for evidence aren't really meant by you to be claims to fact, but, rather, they are just those things that, when you claim them to be true, they make you feel good, you wish they were true, or you think they are true without having any evidence for them. Is anything like that going on with you?

The Capitol assault tried to prevent through violent, extra-constitutional means, the legal process of the Congress counting the electoral votes for the election of the highest office in the land, commonly referred to as the most powerful position on the planet, anywhere.

Did the BLM riots (separate from the peaceful protests, just like some at the Capitol - the ones who did not enter the Capitol - were peacefully protesting) approach the significance of what I outlined directly above?

The BLM/antifa were not peacefully protesting, and it went on for months and months. Burning down cities, pulling people out of their cars and beating them, destroying businesses. You want to equate that with Jan 6?

Whether it's a "purely ceremonial operation" depends on what the rules of the joint session permit the parties to do. It was not purely ceremonial in 1872, and there was some chance that wouldn't be purely ceremonial in this instance at least theoretically. The disruption literally foiled any attempt to make this more than a "purely ceremonial operation."

The proper characterization of "what was attempted on January 6" is a matter of considerable disagreement. The same crowd that called burning police precincts to the ground "mostly peaceful protests" have universalize the motivation of every person who is on Capitol Hill in a way that is remarkably inconsistent with their otherwise dovish rendering of facts.
Nobody ever referred to riots that burned police stations as peaceful.
We object to your lumping in such violent riots with the majority of otherwise peaceful protests.

I've supplied them repeatedly. I think I may have even supplied them to this thread already. I know I supplied them in a few other threads.
I wonder if these court documents, also, verify in some way your claim about the FBI, or do these court documents merely contain someone claiming this about the FBI?
These are claims that have been accepted by the court from the FBI. They are unidentified and unindicted co-conspirators. They are the one's who led the charge, coordinated this whole fiasco, and yet they're walking free while people who were calling for restraint are still in jail.
Do you support democratic elections under a rule of law or not?

Depends on what rules we're playing by. When anyone can vote without ID, then anyone should be able to board an airline without ID. We should all be allowed to drive without ID. If not, then the political process is a blatant joke.
These appointments were not approved by the Senate:
Chris Miller, Sec of Defense, Nov. 9 2020

I think the citizenry of the US should sit back and let their bloated useless government implode in on itself.
Do you have any evidence for your idea that the whole world is laughing at us because of the (current?) POTUS?

Plenty. Every time I step outside the borders of the US, I'm constantly running into people from all over the world who point out what a joke the President is. This was the case with Bush Jr., Trump, and especially with Biden. There are a number of websites online that have daily programs spotlighting the idiocy of the Biden Presidency, but especially Biden himself.

You need evidence that the US is not experiencing economic and social success? The effects of hyperinflation are beginning to rear their ugly head, and yet Biden wants to pump a few more trillion dollars into his cronies' pockets. The economy has been imploding for over a decade, and after locking down the citizenry over a PCR test that the CDC now admits is useless, Biden still thinks the whole country should be vaccinated with an experimental gene therapy that has already killed more people than all vaccines in the last 30 years combined, and is useless against a corona virus that is mutating. Capital flight has been endemic for the last four or five decades. The manufacturing infrastructure has been gutted, and is never going to return. The top one tenth of one percent owns 80% of all real wealth in the world. The list of American cities that are worse than third world hell holes is growing daily. I don't know anyone who has any desire to ever set foot in Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, etc. etc. etc. The standard of living in the US is falling as fast as the cost of living is rising. Civil Asset forfeiture rakes in billions annually from anyone dumb enough to carry over $500.00 cash in their wallet, and if you're opinion differs from the government's mainstream propaganda machine, you're cancelled, deplatformed, or banned from Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube immediately. These sites are all paid for with tax payer funded money from the government. What more evidence does one need to see this isn't your Grandparents country, or even really the same country your parents grew up in.

I don't know anyone outside the US who would ever want to live or even visit the US. I know people who refuse to book a flight that has a stop in the US. They all say the same thing. It's full of murderers, drug addicts, perverts, and a tyrannical government that imprisons more people than the rest of the world combined.

Take a trip outside the US sometime, and see if I'm not telling it exactly like it is. The US is well on its way to becoming a backwater and a byword for the rest of the world.

Your comments that this is something that I want or am pleased with are nothing less than trolling. I spent years working and driving throughout the US. I've seen these cities progressively sliding into the gutter. It's horrifying to watch the country I grew up in fall apart so rapidly. The roads, bridges, buildings etc. are all falling apart. It's pathetic.

Where's your evidence that the country is improving?

I take it you avoided watching the officer’s testimony today.
And? I watched it and I believe them. But here is the difference, we do not need testimony from officers who were assaulted during the BLM peaceful riots. We have a tremendous amount of video showing officers being assaulted, or police buildings and the property being burned. We can compare item for item to see who were the real barbarians. Did Trump support walk into restaurants, turn tables over, and assaulted patrons? Did Trump supporters loot lower Manhattan, burn Minneapolis, etc.

Here is what I see. Seems everything the Democrats are doing is coming up short. Runaway inflation, the border crisis, the never-ending mask-on mask-off mandates, children forced to wear masks in schools, etc. So to take the attention off the important and real issues the Democrats want the attention to be placed on the Capital protest. If you ever read Animal Farm = the Dems made Trump into Snowball.
How long are they going to beat this dead horse?

Let's compare. BLM caused 2Billion in property damage. Just as you cannot unring a bell, you cannot un-destroy property once it has been destroyed. Not for argument's sake let's say that the ones who entered that capital stayed and did not leave. Would that have stopped the legal process of the Congress counting the electoral votes for the election of the highest office in the land, commonly referred to as the most powerful position on the planet, anywhere? No. I believe someone there, probably a Republican, would have been smart enough to have moved Congress to another location and the count would have continued.
If the rioters were still occupying the building today, it would affect nothing, just as the Church is not a building but the people, the government is not a building but its members.

Why won't Senate Republicans support an investigation of the BLM-led insurrection on January 6? Seems like it'd be a great way to prove the validity of their/your narrative...

Where have I written that BLM led the January 6 insurrection? Stay on topic.
I've seen you write it elsewhere, and thus it's relevant here.

The question's just as valid, regardless of who the insurrection was led by (other than the people who appear on the insurrection footage spammed across the web and the news)...

Why wouldn't Senate Republicans support an investigation into it?

Sorry, I never wrote that. As to why Senate Rep would not do X= you would have to ask them. I don't know why.

I know you're wrong, but OK, you're not willing to fess up to it here; consider the accusation withdrawn.

The question's still valid, though...
What is wrong with you? You accuse me of X, I wrote that I did not do X, and you accuse me of lying? Without any proof. Not only does that prove you are dishonest but a punk. As to your question, = go ask the Republicans.

This ignores my qualifier to "collapsing." I'm referring only to the democracy in the election of the POTUS. If Biden had not been certified as the president that day, the democratic election of president would have been in danger of collapsing, as many things not electing Biden as president could have happened.
So if a President 'somehow' was not certified, the collapse would ensue.

If Washington was overrun by a tsunami the democrat election could have "collapsed."

If a Borg battleship blasted the capital, the democrat election could have collapsed.

So many things could have "collapsed" your dream Gus. I'm glad it worked out for you
In our democracy the time of uncertainty in elections is before the certification at the state level (with one exception: Congress not accepting a state's electoral slate).

Umm, in our democracy the uncertain time is before the vote.

It is certainly certain the winner takes office, and is offered a chicken dinner.
Potentially bound with zip ties. I can direct you to a pic of the zip ties if you want.

See above.
I need me some zip tie pics. Do you have pics of colored ones? I like colors.

Didn't you see all those barbarians storming the Capitol police barricades? Why weren't the Capitol Hill police armed with automatic weaponry? They need to be protected sufficiently to handle these barbarians.
Extreme much? Automatic weapons against unarmed American citizens...😬
