More on Eternal Justification !

Now all who were named or called, at the same time, by the same Divine Purpose and Decree, Justified by the Grace of God, given them in Christ Jesus 2 Tim 1:9, through the redemption of Christ Blood, as the Lamb slain from or before the foundation of the world.

Rom 3:24

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rev 13:822

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The trespass they would commit in time, first in Adam their head, and their personal sins when after they are born sinners, they were never laid to their Charge legally, and because of non imputation they were already forgiven of all sin, for David writes of that Ps 32:1-2

1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. See Rom 4:7-8 also !

They also were declared Righteous by Imputation of Christ Righteousness, that He would faithfully work out in Time. All this was accomplished before one speck of dust was created to this world !

You still dont see the Truth.
You still ignore scripture and thus do not know truth

Romans 4:24 (KJV)

In God's Eternal Purpose, the Elect were predestinated to be conformed to the Image of His Son Rom 8:29

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

So this Fact tells us that God already reckoned them as Sons, so they were Justified in His Eternal Decree, He viewed them in Christ, His Only Begotten Son. This means consequently, all their sins were forgiven before they were committed, the curse withdrawn before it was incurred, God's Justice completely satisfied before the Law was broken, they were Justified in Christ before they sinned in Adam, accepted or Highly Favored in the Beloved before they were made sinners. The Redemption of the Elect was done, accomplished, when the Father accepted Christ as their Surety, and had respect unto His sacrifice, as the Lamb slain from the foundation ! Rev 13:8

8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Ps 103:17

17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

I do not think it will be argued that Justification by Faith is a very great mercy to experience in this life. This mercy was not just random or by chance , or by freewill, but was established as a sure mercy from everlasting. God, the everlasting God, Preached the gospel of Justification to Abraham centuries ago Gal 3:8

8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

which is referring to Gen 12:3

3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

But now what was the previous bases for this Mercy ? I believe it was the everlasting Covenant which is what Ps 103:17 is referring to, as the Mercy from everlasting.

I believe Jesus coming in the incarnation was a effect of that Covenant and why He is called the promised mercy.

Lk 1:67-73,77,78

67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

73
The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, !

So Christ coming to die for His People is the fruition of the everlasting covenant. His coming was an act of mercy, in that He would give himself, his soul an offering for sin, for the transgressions of God's People.
I like this post. Contrary to some of the replies, I don't see anywhere where you suggested that believers aren't actually Justified at a real point in time (ie. When they believe). You are highlighting a beautiful aspect of our Salvation in Christ that is akin to the thought in Romans 8:29,30. Namely that our eternal Glorification, which is still a future event, is declared to be an already accomplished event, even though its still future, because it is as good as accomplished via God's foreknowledge and predestination from eternity and Christ's finished work on the cross.

Obviously, in the timeline, as human sinners, we aren't Justified until God brings us to faith in Christ. But because God the Father Chose us in Christ from eternity (Eph 1:4), and predestined us to be adopted as His children through Christ to the praise of His glorious grace (Eph 1:5)...from God's eternal perspective...it was as good as done from eternity, even though it hadn't actually happened in time yet.

You seem to be understanding. Yes there is a difference between being Justified before God solely by the Covenant engagements of Christ from everlasting, and being Justified in our own mind and heart by Faith when we are born again and given Faith in Christ.

One would have to be imperceptive not to see that scriptures indicates that Justification of God's Elect by God's24 Grace is an Eternal Act. This Truth is plainly a Apostles Doctrine and not something just read into scripture. In Both 2 Tim 1:9 and Rom 8:30 Paul is showing the Eternal Purpose of God, by which all things work according to Eph 1:11 He[Paul] is declaring the Decree of God, and in God's decree, all of the Elect were Saved, Justified, and Glorified from Everlasting in Christ.

Yes ! Not righteous in ourselves, but by imputation Rom 4:6

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
If you believe

Romans 4:24 (KJV 1900)
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Amen Brother, according to God's Eternal Purpose in Christ Eph. 1:11; 3:11, He indeed viewed His Chosen in Christ as being holy and without blame before Him in love Eph. 1:4. For they were from Everlasting objects of His Justification / Salvation and Glorification !

Chose those in Christ to be holy and Blameless

Not chosen to be in Christ

One is in Christ when one believes

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Accepted in the Beloved, When ?

Paul who taught the Eternal Justification of all who are True Believers in Christ, who come to believe in Him in time, that they were accepted in the beloved before the foundation of the world, in accordance with having been Chosen in Him at that date Eph 1:3-6

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as[even as] he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

The verb accepted is the greek word charitoō and means:

to make graceful

a) charming, lovely, agreeable

2) to peruse with grace, compass with favour

3) to honour with blessings

This has to do with the gracious and favorable acceptance of the Chosen Ones of their Persons in the Beloved, which is Christ. Now when was this ? Why its when He chose them in Him before the foundation of the World. Remember this acceptance is according to and to the Praise of the Glory of His Grace to them. When was this Grace given to them ? 2 Tim 1:9

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

It was given them in Christ Jesus before the world began.

As such, God considered them Righteous, if Righteous, then Justified. This is what is meant by being Justified by His Grace.

Rom 3:24

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

This Justification by Grace here had nothing to do with being done in time, yes it was through or on the grounds of the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus, meaning His Death, but, God reckoned that as a done deal in His Eternal Purpose and so He was the Lamb slain from the foundation Rev 13:8

8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

No, the cross had not occurred yet in the temporal, but it did in the Eternal, because God's realization of things are always present to Him and Eternal.
