I see this mistake more and more as I surf the internet.
"Lose" and "Loose" are two different words that have meanings not even similar. "Lose" rhymes with dues (hard S) and "loose" rhymes with deuce (soft S). Examples:
We will "lose" this game if we don't begin to play better! (VERB)
We will tighten the nut on the bolt so it doesn't become "loose"! (ADJECTIVE)
You cannot "Loose" a game! That's just silly, but I see this usage constantly lately.......from supposedly educated folks
