Minds are for believing.

False beliefs are real beliefs.

How can "False beliefs" be "real beliefs" when "False beliefs" don't relate to the truth or reality?

Why do you persist in your unbelief? By your own claims, unbelief makes you blind to the truth...

Strawman. Actually "By your own claims" that "False beliefs are real beliefs"; this "false belief" "makes you blind to the truth".

Straw man - another term you don't actually know the meaning of.

Thanks for confirming that you don't have a clue what beliefs are. Beliefs don't have to be backed up by anything - they're just opinions.

For example: I believe that Brazil will win the Football World Cup which starts in Qatar in a few days. This is a perfectly valid belief.

You really should learn a couple of things: firstly, that it's not "Strawman" but two words "Straw man". Secondly, you need to learn what a Straw Man logical fallacy is. You keep accusing people of Straw Manning your argument when they have done nothing of the sort.

No. Not all beliefs are connected to reality, because beliefs can be false. Why do you have so much trouble understanding a simple concept like belief?

A strawman is an intentionally misrepresented position that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

Beliefs in reality are backed by the truth and reality. And thanks for showing that you have no clue what the truth and reality entails.

Non sequitur And again you show you are conflating belief with guessing, as beliefs are backed up by the truth and reality. And since beliefs in reality can ONLY be known after reality occurs, then your reason does support the correct sequence in order to make the truth known to you in reality.

Sure you have, and your ignorance and misrepresentation of the truth and reality attests that. See above. How can you know about the truth and reality before it occurs?

Straw man or strawman; whichever you prefer. ALL beliefs in reality are connected to reality, and if you are not referring to beliefs in reality, then you are not denoting reality.

Define the word belief. I bet you can't get it right. You certainly haven't been able to define a simple word for the last 10 years!

Does the Lord of the Rings trilogy exist in reality, Durrcon?

"The Lord of the Rings trilogy" does not represent reality. And you trying trying to use a work of fiction to pretend to does tells us a lot about where the truth and reality stands with you.

That's not an answer to the question you were asked. Try reading the question again.

Do believe that "the Lord of the Rings trilogy" exists in reality?

Does "the Lord of the Rings trilogy" represent reality?

Can you tell the difference?
Yes I can tell the difference. But you don't seem to be able to work out which question you were asked. Maybe you should go back to post #169 and answer the question you were asked.

More strawmanning. Belief is accepting something to be true in reality.

Wrong. Belief is accepting something to be true.

The "in reality" that you add is unnecessary and is the source of your confusion. This may blow your mind but beliefs can be about fictional universes as well as reality. Oh, and you will note that by definition beliefs may not be true, just accepted as being true.

Does "the Lord of the Rings trilogy" represent reality?

Again, you're still having trouble with the question. What question were you asked in post #169?
