Mormons think salvation is a Transaction!

But it isn't ---- it's a transformation. We've told them, yet they go on criticizing us, falsely misrepresenting us and accusing us of bellieving in easy grace (meanimg cheap grace).

2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.

Only God can transform sinners!

We haven't given ourselves faith.

Romans 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Well, Mormons must pay to have eternal life, since they cannot get into their temples to perform the ordinances therein that are required for exaltation to godhood, UNLESS they pay a full tithe to their church. Only then are they "worthy" to get into their temples.

Mormons must pay for what Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died to give us as a GIFT. One doesn't pay for a gift. By its very definition, it is free. Because Jesus already paid the price for it and paid completely!

Tithe isn't the only requirement. They are interviewed by the bishop. They have to answer all the questions and keep the word of wisdom.

Questions 12 and 13 are omitted when youth are interviewed for a limited-use recommend.

  1. Do you have faith in and a testimony of God, the Eternal Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost?
  2. Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and of His role as your Savior and Redeemer?
  3. Do you have a testimony of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ?
  4. Do you sustain the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the prophet, seer, and revelator and as the only person on the earth authorized to exercise all priesthood keys?

Do you sustain the members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators?

Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local leaders of the Church?
  5. The Lord has said that all things are to be “done in cleanliness” before Him (Doctrine and Covenants 42:41).

Do you strive for moral cleanliness in your thoughts and behavior?

Do you obey the law of chastity?
  6. Do you follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ in your private and public behavior with members of your family and others?
  7. Do you support or promote any teachings, practices, or doctrine contrary to those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
  8. Do you strive to keep the Sabbath day holy, both at home and at church; attend your meetings; prepare for and worthily partake of the sacrament; and live your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?
  9. Do you strive to be honest in all that you do?
  10. Are you a full-tithe payer?

For new members seeking a limited-use recommend: Are you willing to obey the commandment to pay tithing?
  11. Do you understand and obey the Word of Wisdom?
  12. Do you have any financial or other obligations to a former spouse or to children?

If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?
  13. Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple, including wearing the temple garment as instructed in the endowment?
  14. Are there serious sins in your life that need to be resolved with priesthood authorities as part of your repentance?
  15. Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord’s house and participate in temple ordinances?
Church leaders will begin using these questions immediately.

I know, but they cannot get into the temples unless they commit to tithing first--which means they basically pay for exaltation to the CK.

How many times have I told you that salvation only goes to them that actually walk in the newness of life? If it is a transformation, and I believe it is. Then salvation only goes to those who are actually transformed. It will not go to those who wait til tomorrow to walk in the newness of life or to those who happen to be on vacation from that transformation.

But in Mormonism "salvation" just means resurrection into immortality and it happens to ALL people, regardless of beliefs or how they lived their lives. So, are you talking about eternal life? Exaltation to the CK? And godhood?

Yes, true, biblical salvation/eternal life means being made a new creation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. We cannot earn such a wondrous gift. As Paul writes, "The old is gone; the new is come!" Faith in the true Jesus Christ of the Bible transforms us from the inside out, making us new. We are then able to "walk in the Light" of Jesus Christ, since He is the Light, the true Light that came into the world at His Incarnation. Faith in Him gives us the right to BECOME the children of God, as per John 1. Until then, we are, by nature, children of wrath, as Paul also writes in Ephesians 2.

Tithing didn't bother me at all. Some Protestants tithe. But the extra biblical requirements were stupid, and "he that is not tithed shall be burned at
his coming." In the temple:

“We covenant to give of our resources in time and money and talent—all we are and all we possess—to the interest of the kingdom of God upon the earth.”

"Kingdom of God on earth" is the Mormon church.

Salvation causes transformation. Christians are transformed; it isn't something we're waiting for!

"By their fruits ye shall know them" unless you're following Satan.

Jesus saves the ungodly. Those already saved are not the ungodly.

Do telestial dwellers walk in newness of life?
