New York's concealed carry law unconstitutional?

It is clear that it is much harder to get an abortion or to vote than it is to buy a gun.
No it's not. If you were trying to protect yourself from a drunken abusive estranged husband and you felt that you needed a gun to do that, because he was a firearms enthusiast, you would be waiting 40 days in order to get a gun to protect yourself in the state of Maryland. If you were in real danger that's more than enough time for the very worst to have happened to you. These arbitrary laws prevent real people from protecting themselves in circumstances where they really need protection.

The Constitution does not mention many things, like space exploration, an Air Force, or the internet.

If also states that gun toting should be well-regulated.
The constitution says nothing of the kind. A militia which is possible because people have their own firearms, needs to be well regulated. That's what the Constitution says. Has nothing to do with the firearms, or the people who owned the firearms, being well regulated. All of that language about a militia has been superseded by the fact that the United States has a standing army now.

When that language was put in the constitution it was not envisioned that the United States would have a permanent standing army. The things in the second amendment that we still have Are number one people, and number two firearms. I suppose if we were in desperate circumstances in our standing army was absolutely defeated, then everybody with a firearm would constitute the militia which could be called up by the authorities to defend the country.

But a gun doesnt necessarily kill someone whereas an abortion almost always does. So in that respect it is the lesser of two evils

But surely it depends how people 'interpret' the constitution as to whether it mentions the internet? Or is 'interpretation' of text, for you, just when it comes to the Bible and sexual matters?

The poster is right the constitution doesn't mention those things but it also doesn't mention SS, Medicaid Medicare. I suspect the poster would use the "general welfare" argument the question is should the federal government be paying for any or all of those things?

That's really a great point. If an abortion doctor is used as intended he always kills a person. That is not the case with a gun.

Yeah the court has been closed consistent so I'm not sure why they keep missing laws like this.
It's completely cynical. The Supreme Court justices aren't New York voters. Those New York pols don't give a hoot about governing. They are in the pandering business, and it's the only thing they know how to do.

It's like show business

You know it truly is awful. The people we put in elected office don't give a hoot about doing that job they just want to keep the American people divided and at each other's throats and they will engage in any kind of disingenuous stoking the flames of passion to make sure that they stay in office.

Oh? When was the last time you had to get a background check to vote? In most states you still don't have to show an ID to vote either, yet you do to buy a gun.
I think you should have to prove you own a gun before you can vote. Now there's a regulation I could get behind.
