I guess this site has been going for a while but it is new to me. It has an intersting weekly schedule of various contributors and podacasts.

I'm posting this now because today they played a good sermon by Pastor Cwirla on Luke 2, finding the young Jesus in the temple. A favorite line is something to the effect that most people don't think of God as a twelve year old junior high kid.

The site doesn't seem to be an on demand site so I don't yet know how to find the sermon other than to wait for the day's "tape" to repeat before tomorrow.

If you're not familiar with the site there are excellent shows, including but not limited to Christ For Us, with Rolf Preuss (and sons); The Thinking Fellows, with Dr. Rod Rosenbladt and others; Sermons From Holy Trinity, with Bill Cwirla.

Looking at this week's mostly past schedule I also saw that The Gift had Ron Hodel as a speaker. He was the first preacher I had ever heard do a Bible study on Romans, I only heard the one on Romans 9, who stuck to the text and didn't read a bunch of wackiness into it.

Anyway, there are some fine shows and speakers at PCR who Christ knows and who can present Him for all men clearly according to the word of God.

If anyone would recommend another show or speaker on that site it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I used to listen to different program segments of the show, during Carm-aggedon, I tuned in frequently to listen to his TV evangelist heretic of the week exposé or some such. If I recall others whom I've enjoyed as guests on the show, I'll submit an additional post. Life's been a blur for a while.

I haven't listened in a long time, but remember it being a good show, except when he does "comedy" bits, which are painfully unfunny.

As for the sermon, try Sermon Audio. Or you could just download that episode of the podcast.

As for me, the drawback to sermon audio is the necessity of the agreed annoying email. You never mentioned what seminary you graduated from, unless I missed it?

lol! In So Cal we call it car-megeddon when they close a road, freeway, or bridge for maintenance or modification.

This week in Pop- American Christianity was the segment. There were many of episodes.
James Swan first mentioned,
Carm-eggedon upon a lengthy downtime of the crashing forums.
Have you found the seach pane under podcasts off the PCR homepage? [See Below, for direct link]
There exists generic podcast apps such as Pod-bean, that may prove helpful. Pod-bean is from the playstore.
I tried Pod-bean it seems they only have 87 episodes and the latest refers to last December 20th. Sorry.
Here's a link to PCR podcast search pane.

Thanks. The search didn't go well but there are a lot of shows at that limk. I listened to the first one and it was long. Are all the Fighting For The Faith Shows well over an hour? There doesn't seem to be any time indicators even when listening to a podcast.

Edit: I just went back and relaized that I was looking at a search result list. It was a PCR gang(?) talk on discernment.

I really don't recall, although I've often heard Chris Roseborough at Pirate Christian Radio by the likes of Issues Etc and others, I believe the only real time I had listened was for the most part the Pop-American Christianity segments which do more to expose error various American "evangelists," some of whom I've never heard their names or whacky teachings til I listened to a few or more broadcasts. I think you may be right about the length of time but I'm not sure. I think I found the program informative and entertaining but a bit long-winded. I think you get more bang for your dollar on Issues Etc whose format covers many of the same topics with many of the same guest and more. PCR format, aka Fighting 4 the Faith, by title alone suggest more about exposing error.

Why is it called "Pirate" Christian Radio?

Thank you for asking that question. I learned quite a bit by looking for the answer. Based on an entry titled Breaking The Machine posted in The Captain's Blog, the name iapparently reflects that it is outside synod control and input.

As an adult convert and non LCMS person, the Lord in real life has used numerous pinciples of the organizations mentioned in the article and the podcast to which I listened to help me grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. It is a great aggregate site so I hope to find an effective way to make use of it.

I haven't listened in a while. But I was listening when Chris was targeted by liberal churches and denied him entry to their services. I might go back and listen again.

So many fires, too little time.

Chris Rosebrough. His theology's generally pretty good, but he tries to do comedy and it's just bad.

I listen to it all the time. I like that you can look sermons up by preacher, by scripture verses, or by topic.
Thanks.

By the reactions he was getting it seems that he isn't a people pleaser.
