8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The Saving purpose of the Gospel !

2 Tim 1:9-10

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

If Christ died for us, He is our Saviour, He hath for us abolished death ! The Purpose of the Gospel when it comes to Salvation,is that it might bring to light life and immortality, which is the Essence of New Birth, a Quickened Immortal Life. All Gospel Obedience such as Faith and Repentance comes forth as a result of this Immortal Life. Faith is the fruit of the New Birth which is obedient to the Gospel Summons or Call ! 2 Thess 2:14

Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now understand who is being called here Vs 13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Those who have partook of Sanctification of the Spirit, which is the communicating of that Immortal life !310

The context of 2 Thess tells you that Paul there is not talking about this:

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God

but about this:

27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time without respect to sin, to save those who eagerly await Him. (Heb 9:28; see also 1 Thess 5:9)

But you would need to actually care about the truth to know that.

Saved before we Believe the Gospel !

That one is saved before they believe the Gospel is seen here 2 Tim 1:9

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Here note the Divine order, being saved precedes the Divine Call by the Gospel 2 Thess 2:13-14

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is also why Paul writes that Gospel is hid to them that are lost [not saved], for the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not 2 Cor 4:3-4

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Of course the most reasonable inference from this is that the Gospel is not hid from them that are saved, their minds not being blinded by the god of this world, because Christ destroyed his hold over them, and so they are believing !311

Amen Brother, in the Divine Purpose of God, His Elect are legally Saved / Sanctified / Justified and Called before we are given Faith to Believe the Gospel in time, because it was from Everlasting that God Loved us In Christ Our Beloved Surety, and we were made accepted In Him !

The Gospel call is to the redeemed !

Isa 44:22

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

or in NT language 2 Cor 5:19-20

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

The Gospel call to the redeemed, is that they [having been redeemed] return to the Lord. They do not return to the Lord to get redeemed, or to get their transgressions blotteth out, or their sins forgiven, but because God hath already done that for them [through Christ], hence the Gospel is the Good News of ones's Salvation or Redemption, and Forgiveness Eph 1:7-13313

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

And so the Gospel is not an offer for men to make a choice about, but its informative to those who have a full Redemption through Christ.

Redemption takes into account the forgiveness of sins.

The ones in 2 Cor 5:20 are being reconciled by the call because they had no sins laid to their charge Vs 19, that fact meant they were already forgiven and redeemed before their call ! And that is the corresponding point of the call in Isa 45:22 !

The Gospel as a word of Salvation is unto the saved, the redeemed. The preacher doesnt know who the saved, the redeemed are, but God does. So the Gospel is taken by the Spirit and reveals it to the saved. Whenever a Preacher preaches the Gospel, hes at the mercy of God on whether or not its a word of salvation to the redeemed elect, or if its a word of death to the non elect vessel of wrath.

The gospel is for all people

Mark 16:15 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Its message states Christ died for our sins

1 Corinthians 15:1-11 (KJV)
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

The Gospel is unto the damned a savour of death, and unto the saved a savour of life, all according to Gods purpose.
