Family life for mankind, started in the Garden of Eden, the true home-school. There was also the schools of the prophets in the days of Elijah and others. Jesus and John the Baptist had such schools in the wilderness. God gave to Moses schooling instructions for families and children:

Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deu 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Deu 6:11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

Yes I agree. The biggest reason for homeschooling at the moment is because the teaching is not only increasingly ungodly, but also now not even evidence based and is a narrow ideologue of woke indoctrination

Belief in God is not evidence based.

I have been involved in Homeschooling for 2 decades. I ALSO have a teaching certificate in California, Arizona and Maryland. Over the last 8 years I have been assisting parents with their own home-school curriculum choices. In AZ we can use the Gym's of the public schools as long as we don't infringe on their schedules. Most of my clients are concerned about woke issues, liberalism.

I want to caution people against using the material from the first post. It does have some good areas, but some that is extremely dangerous. I can recommend age appropriate materials and teaching manipulatives.

Hi BD,

I was recently (June 30) able to retire from teaching with an unreduced pension. But a significant factor was the increased proliferation of "anti-Black racisim", "White Privilege", "White Fragility", CRT, intersectionality, etc. It was increasingly difficult to go along with all these issues. In Canada I don't think we've yet had issues of age-inappropriate materials (I wasn't in the elementary panel), but I'm sure it's coming.

Sorry Theo I was in a hurry when I posted before. Living in Queen Creek AZ (where I taught) comes with a serious Mormon population. It automatically stamps out some of DEI nonsense. Our new governor is a serious progressive. I'm glad I could see the writing on the wall. I also got my retirement, but in AZ, that's not saying much. Glad my husband and I have other retirement.

Our schools are now ground zero in spreading degenerative ideas. I still do home schooling.

God Speed brother.
