That is almost as many that died in this country in the great Flu pandemic of 1918. That was a terrible crisis. I have read two books on it. Worldwide, the death rate from covid is much lower than it was from flu in 1918--over 50 million may have died from that disease, or even more. But there were far fewer people on earth back then than now.The over 600, 000 that I mentioned were only those who died in America from the Covid 19.
it is easy to dismiss covid-19 by saying it has "only" a death rate of 1-2%--unless loved ones and friends are in that 1-2 percentile.
